where is the compass?

You might need a computer chip and a piece of magnetite before it shows up on the Fabricator.

So now the compass is missing from the Fabricator menu in "Survival" mode? Jeez, I'll have to report that on Trello then. It's supposed to show even if you don't have the required material to make, so you can scroll your mouse over the icon to see what needs to be found.

Nope its not missing.
You need to search some magnetite and the compass will appear in the
fabricator menu

Sorry, but that doesn't make sense. All icons are supposed to be visible in the Fabricator, just greyed out until you get the needed materials to make the item. So, if the compass icon is missing and only reappears when you have the materials, then that is a bug. For anyone that doesn't know what to get for the device, not having the icon's information isn't helpful. So, I'll have to report this on Trello.

Devs, making the magnetite that hard to get... well, since the Moth is now restricted to a depth and such.... a little mercy perhaps on this one?

I read in the wiki, that magnetite might soon be unavailable in the game... and since I checked these glowing snake something mushrooms by the dozen and only found lithium, I supposed, the devs already removed magnetite from the game, which would be silly since you need it for the compass and the thermal plant!
