Number of creatures
Hello!

Approximately how many sea creatures are you planning to add to the game until it is finished?
I just want to imagine how much variety will be there in the future.

I hope you add more "squid-like" creatures to the world as well. The giant tentacle-rays are probably my favorite animals right now.

Love the game so far!

I don't know the exact number, but there will be quite a few.As for the "squid-like" creatures, rest assured, we are getting 2 of them. One of them is the Se Emperor and the other one the Sea Dragon.Reefbacks do have tentacles so you could consider them gigantic 3-tentacle squid/whale hybrid.
last i checked eventually we should be getting a total of 10 or so new species but this take longer than the update that gives us the sea emporer
#Hypetrain
As well i think they wont stop putting more species in

I think the Reefback is what I meant by giant tentacle-ray :) I hope I don't see any screenshots of them before they are released, kind of annoyed that I saw the Reaper Leviathan on a random screen before.
The reefbacks are already in there
As well as another squid-like creature the jellyray c:

If it was bioluminscent and was blue with purple/pink spots it was the Jellyray. If it was a huge whale/squid with three tentacles then it was the reefy'.
Wait...will they have something bigger than the sea emporer? Also is its size comfirmed?

We will not have a creature bigger then the sea emprah', no.Since he/it is the end boss of the game.
why does end-boss must mean that it is also the biggest? Why not have a creature bigger but passive?

Cause 90% of the time, end-boss=biggest creature around.Although, come to think of it, the sea dragon looks a *tad* bigger then the sea emperor.
never seen pics of the dragon...would be nice if subnautica broke up the stereotype of end-bosses and size compensation

Go here for the lifeforms list. http://subnautica.wikia.com/wiki/Life_Forms. Also, this isn't the type of game to have end bosses. They are just various creatures of the ocean. You don't have to defeat them to gain access to a new area.

Not the type of game to have end bosses? Sure... [subnautica.wikia.com]

It won't be a creature you have to defeat to end the game.

The Sea Dragon leviathan seems bigger than the Emperor from where I'm standing:
