keep trying i know it's scary but if you never try you will never succeed.
Your background and personal experiances are vital for a proffesional to be aware of before offering any form of treatment.
This is the last place you should be seeking help.
But then, you gather your courage and just do it! Making a huge jump or fall in games make my stomach go nuts, but at the same time it's exciting!
Basic horror exists in the mind. Except for jump scares and such, horror and fear are about the mind, not what we see. Just keep reminding yourself that you cannot be harmed, take a deep breath, and go! You might find it more enjoyable than you previously thought. :)
I also tend to keep either the sea floor in view or the surface (if I'm using the Aurora as a guide). I really hate not being able see anything except water above and below. I find the compass really helps me from becoming disorientated too. You might want to cheat the magnetite to make one early.
Still, though, I dislike the red grassy plateaus. The mushroom forests are fine, and I don't mind the sparse reef too much. But I've never liked the openness of the red grassy plateaus.
Not to friggin' mention, it's like the most jump-scare and hostile area ever. (I've never quite had the balls to get to the Aurora, so maybe I'm wrong.)
NOPE!
Remember.. it's just pixels in the end!
Relax, breathe, and keep in the back of your mind, that nothing bad will happen. The reaper is only in 1 spot right now, and with a seamoth, you'll be fine in the deep dark waters.
I've had the exact same reaction when I started playing the game. Underwater in games used to absolutely terrify me.
What got me over it was just gradual exploration and learning that most of the fear was only in my mind. Admittedly I've had plenty of "nope nope nope nope" moments when I would just quit the game.
Eventually I adjusted and now the only thing that still freaks me out are the Reapers.
Another wonderful community i can be proud of being with.
*hands everyone a cookie* :D
