join the subnautica modding discord, many mods have been removed from nexus and are posted through the modding portals on the group channel

But go ahead and look at the subnautica folder on www.nexusmods.com first, since there are dozens of mods still hosted there, including the historically most popular ones.

My favorites are the Map Mod, and SnapBuilder. And the Cyclops Docking Mod, although that one can have a few "quirks".

You should make a distinction as you are examining and deciding on mods.

Are you looking for mods that will really CHANGE the game, make it noticeably easier, etc?

Our are you looking just for Quality of Life mods that reduce the time spent on awkward things, smooth out procedures, improve performance in some areas, etc.

Very true. Strictly QoL probably Radial Tabs, Quit to Desktop, Blueprint Tracker and Resource Monitor together with the ones mentioned by Arondil. More Quick Slots and Radial Tabs are 2 mods I can't live without.

I forgot EasyCraft.

For what it's worth, I don't consider MoreQuickSlots to be a pure QoL mod, since it materially lessens your equipment and activity management challenges in the game, which I believe/consider are matters of design intent.

Fun for later, though.

FCS is the most amazing mod pack.

It doesn't really fall in the "mod" category but - hardware permitting - you can install a reshader and kick the graphics up a notch.

What is the FCS? I looked it up on nexus mods but couldn't seem to find it

FCS is a modder group. They no longer post their stuff on Nexus Mods. You can find them via the modding discord, but unfortunately someone else with have to give you that URL.

Reshaders are generally found packaged as "mods", on mod download sites. There are a number of them on Nexus Mods.

Thanks.

yeah also FCS adds a new mechanic into the game. its mining. like actual mining, everything in the FCS pack almost requires alterra bucks. you get alterra bucks by depositing collected ores into the ore consumer. the fcs pack is really a bunch of mods rolled into one. but they went a step further. see my main base now, when docked with auto pulls the inventory from the vehicle, deposits it into the alterra storage system, and then the system checks its limits, and any collected items over that limit it automatically transfers into my ore consumers. quite nice actually. especially considering that a full seamoth for me has 256 item slots that all need to be emptied.
