My ranking of favorite surface base-building biomes from best to worst were:
Grassy Plateau
Safe Shallows
Mushroom Forest (NE)
Kelp Forest
Crash Zone (the plateau right under lifepod 4 is a good spot)
Mushroom Forest (NW)
Bulb Zone
Blood Kelp Forest (north)
Crash Zone Mesas
Dunes
Grand Reef
Sea Treadrer's Path (inside the large cave is fun, but not practical)
Underwater Islands
Sparse Reef
Mountains
Crag Zone
Blood Kelp Trench
ill give the crag field this, i found it to be more terrifying then some of the other biomes.
Sparse Reef is too boring.
Crag Field just isn't interesting.
I'm curious about the giant crab.

There is info on the wiki about it, and other videos that show the Entity Viewer.

Or maybe the Grabcrab who ate the container shipment of steroids addressed to the Alterra's Marines Corps.
