How to enable console?

Pressing F8 then F3 gets a different menu after the update, is there still a way to enable console commands?

It's now the same as in Below Zero. You have to press SHIFT and ` (or ENTER) at the same time.

Press the F3 key, then the F8 key, and untick the "Disable Console" button in the top left.

After enabling the console, clear away the windows first, then while the game is in fullscreen mode, simply press the ENTER or ~ key to bring up the input field. The field will not appear if the game is windowed.

Actually, they changed it in the update. Now you hit Shift + ` to enable it, and then just ` to use it from then on.

(If you can't find ` on your keyboard, it's usually to the left of the 1 and shared with ~ )

Disable console

Well it appears that under F3 there is no longer a box to disable console. Please advice on what to do.

Enabling Console mode with 12/2022 update

Has anyone else noticed the F3 menu no longer includes the check box for Console Mode? I have over 450 hours in game time on it, and after this update, it's the first time I noticed it's gone. I even tried the Shift + Enter approach from Subnautica - Below Zero, that doesn't work in this game either. Anyone find a way to get it activated, or where the "Disable Console mode" check box has moved to?

From reading elsewhere on this forum, I am given to understand that pressing Shift + ` (ie, typing a tilde on the Us keyboard) will "unlock" the console, and allow presses of ` by itself to open it in the future.
