How do you heal in freedom mode before the first aid kit?

Is it just time? Does time heal? or are there other ways? i'm just starting out and got hit kind of bad and went down to 42%. I'm back in the pod now but it doesnt seem to be regenerating?

As of now, you can't. Hopefully some sort of healing station will be implemented later on.

its a survival game so no auto-regen. Starting out you should be reasonably safe. Eventually you'll be able to craft health kits, I've played over 20 hrs and only used 5.....well maybe 6 cuz i almost died of thirst.

ok but as i said this is freedom mode so no food or thirst. im aware it's a survival game but i wasnt sure if freedom mode gave you more options for healing.

I've played plenty of survival games with auto regen.

Something interesting - if you're in Survival, you slowly heal as you get hungrier/thirstier (ie: digesting, and turning that into health). But yeah, if you're in Freedom, you need to heal yourself.

i see ok. thanks. its almost easier to stay healthy in normal mode i supposed but i'm now able to make health kits so not so bad. I guess it's only a problem if you happen to run into something mean in the very beginning.
