Subnautica - EPIC or Steam?
I have looked at comments and almost everyone is saying to buy it on steam but it is just so much cheaper on EPIC 😭

Isn't it the same game no matter where you buy it or is there an actual diffrence?

I'd usually say wait til a big sale on Steam. If you can get the bundle with Below Zero that's great. If you can't get Below Zero with it for cheap, that's also great.

It goes on as sale every now and then. Just wait a bit.
Or, well just buy it on the EPIC store if you want to buy the game now. No need to buy it on Steam.

No real difference, just ease of access. Though if I remember right, you can add non-steam games to the steam library and be able to launch them from there with some finnicking around. I think it involves using shortcuts?

Was that a very short sale? It's the same price for me right now.
Maybe it will be on sale for Halloween on Steam since it is quite scary in places.

I would always recommend to not buy from Epic but I am biased since I hate the way they try to compete.

It's the same game, so wherever is cheaper. I don't personally like EPIC, so I'd go with Steam all else equal. This game will probably do on sale during Christmas like it has the past few years, if not sooner, so that's an option if money is tight.

thank you all for the help. I have decided to wait for a sale here on steam (:

Im guessing once SN 2 releases/comes into early access (though im not sure you'd wanna wait till then) there is probably gonna be some kind of bundle on sale with all 3 games included. Just a theory though.
I'm assuming it was on sale on EGS because it shows as the same price in my currency on both EGS and Steam (£24.99).

Its cheaper than Steam on cdkeys, at least in my currency (£17.29 / £24.99) and I can vouch for the legitimacy of cdkeysDOTcom having used it to buy games without any issues for years now.

Another factor on deciding to buy games on Steam or EPIC is if you ever plan on playing a game while traveling or playing it offline. Steam has and Offline function. Epic does not.

I found that out a few years ago when EPIC was giving out Farming Sim 19 as a free game, and I tried to play it one night when my WiFi crapped out on me. I quickly bought it on Steam during the next sale they had on it.

I'd be very surprised if they do a decent deal like that during early access, maybe a small discount but nothing like 50%. As I already have the other two games I'll probably be waiting for that sweet 50% sale (that is, if I decide to buy after reading plenty of reviews).
