Include Fahrenheit degrees in thermometer?
Some of us are unlucky enough to have gone to American schools

F = C x 1.8 + 32... for orientation and quick calculating just do C x 2 +32... got me through holidays when i was in another metric system. not accurate but cool.

That's a help, but it takes a moment to do the math. A C/F toggle would be nice eventually

37°C = body temperature
15°C = ingame thermal plant starts working
4°C = highest density of H20
0°C = Water freezes

Hope that helps till the C/F switch. ;)

Thanks. I knew that 0 is freezing and 100 is boiling, but that's it.

Well Fahrenheit is a very unpractical unit. But around 20°C-22°C is what you would want inside your House. Around 30°C is a really nice warm swimming Pool.

This map shows countries that use Fahrenheit.

LOL Nice map.

The book should have been Celsius 233 or at least Clesius 451.

From the Slate.com:

Several Internet contrarians claim that Ray Bradbury confused Celsius and Fahrenheit, putting his estimate off by 391 Fahrenheit degrees. They cite as evidence the Handbook of Physical Testing of Paper, which lists paper's ignition temperature as 450 degrees Celsius.

i hate it when people go off topic normally... but to mention Ray Bradbury on a simple kiddie game, wow! Bradbury is one of the best brainstorming minds out there.... was one of the best... but his work will live on!

Kelvin 506 is a remarkable piece of Literature!

I always go off topic incredibly abnormally. Take, for example, the time I had to drive my uncle's vintage Corvette. I'm well over six feet tall, so I simply could not fit into that car. The only way I could drive it was with my forehead pressed up against the roof and looking right down my nose. I had a bruise on my face from doing that, so thank you very much for bringing up that horrible memory.

However, Kelvin 506 is for the win!

Bradbury and PKD are my two favourite SF authors. They did understand what it is to live in a science fiction world. I also include Frank Herbert, who more or less wrote the textbook on humans living in alien worlds. I find Bradbury and PKD more accesible, though, because of their extensive library of short stories and pulp SF. Herbert's novels sometimes are just too long and too much, especially the farther he got from his towering masterpieces of Dune, Destination: Void, and The Jesus Incident.

I mean, if you really, really want, we can stay on topic, but I've seen what I consider better topics in the bottoms of urinals. And, for that matter, you have well and truly nailed the correct answer: the thermometer should read in Kelvin. It's an alien world, why would we use Earth-based temperature scales?

Is this really a kiddie game? Somehow I think it would be a bit much for kids
Khanwolf Jan 27, 2016 @ 10:27pm
ah, man, no it is no kiddie game. see my playtime, i would never play a game so long if it was total crap... we talked about literature, not pixel entertainment!

every game out there is somehow a kiddie game in my opinion. playing with my girlfriend is the real adult fun, i will never find in "kiddie games".

please dont nail me down on just these 2 words. we were off topic, talking about books and great minds like Bradbury.

Everything out there is kiddie entertainment if you compare it to bed activities or Books. I didnt want to insult your and my favourite game. (but yeah, this is all just pixel entertainment if you compare it to the real world IMHO.)

+1 for Fahrenheit on the temperature scale, +1 for Kelvin 506, +1 for better Corvette Cockpits, +1 for good Books and +1 for pixel entertainment!

i am on your side, put the gun down!

I do admit I liked the Corvette Cockpits comment. And yes, books are nice.
