How do I keep the Stalkers from playing with my camera drones?
It's cute AF, but annoying AF when you park a camera drone by something you want to go pick up and a Stalker grabs it. Do I just not use them anywhere near the shallows or the kelp forests?

If the stalkers do not exist, they cannot play with the camera drones.

Are you using them to find resources? I gave up on that and use the upgrade to add resources to the HUD.

yeah I have to admit I completly stopped using those. first it takes 4 slots when a beacon use 1 and second is the problem you speak about. they even come to your base if close enough in order to snatch the cameras that are on the side of the scanner room. had to remove those for good.

Haven't unlocked that yet. I'm actually using them to find fragments (?) at the moment. Figured that was the best way to upgrade fast.

Yes, you have. It comes in automatically when you get the scanner room blueprint.

The PDA calls it a "Scanner Room HUD Chip." You'll find it in a section of your blueprints tab called "Scanner Room Upgrades."

But, "Spike" is my pet! He took up residence at my base. I feed him any boomerangs I catch. I dropped a few pieces of scrap so he has something else to play with. And if he loses any teeth chewing on it, that's more enameled glass.

And I don't even have a stasis rifle yet, so. . .

Yeah there are a lot of fabricators in the game.

The regular one.
The one at the vehicle upgrade console.
The one in the Scanner Room (only that one produces Scanner Room Upgrades and the HUD chip for the player).
The one in the Cyclops.
- And somewhat the modification station. :wellok:

This confused me either a bit back then when I started to play. :pfff:

Take the cameras inside to a Wall Locker in the Scanner Room when you are not using them. If they are grabbed when you are driving, just wait until the Stalkers stop playing, then drive them home...at top speed, preferably while ducking through caves and coral tubes. THEN take them inside. eventually the Stalkers will lose interest, or you can go out and make them permanently 'not curious'.

Also, releaseing about 6 home-bred Gasopods to play around just a bit above your base goes a long way toward keeping Stalkers away, or dead. It isn't perfect, but cuts down on the problem.

I personally find it funny if they take the cam and actually I mostly never try to get it back, as it's an indicator of where Stalker teeth can be found.

Nine altogether, as a matter of fact.

Put two grav traps around the scanner room (one on each side). They will grab the Stalker when they attempt to steal the cameras, which will keep them by the base. As a bonus, this will potentially get you a nice collection of Stalker teeth right under your base.

Stasis rifle? Swim after that bastard and knife it like a man.

that's what I thought at first.... but the grav traps are also affected by the weight of the target they caught. so the bigger are the target, the more the trap derive, and you have to replace it every x time because it went to far or to up/down. I still have one of those because it's fun and gave me access to free food for most of early game so I feel attached to it, like an old poster, but it's clearly useless now x)

If you just want to use the Grav Trap to catch stuff nearby, primarily food fish,
build two. Put one well into each end of a Coral Tube. They will hold each other there, and hold a cloud of yummies around the tube.

And occsionally, they may be more useful...
