Assuming that you have Compass:

If you are in the big cavern (you should be able to tell...it's BIG; can't see the walls except the one nearest, and it has Lava Lizards sparking, hopefully in the distance), go West to the wall, then North. The opening to the Western corridor in more or less in the Northern half of the West wall.

Keep an eye out for a couple of Warpers near the corridor entrance.

Follow the Western Corridor all the way to the end, West bending to North. Lots of Lava Larvae, a couple Warpers, but mostly high up.

At the Northwest end of the corridor, you will come to a chamber, just the dead end of the Corridor really, with a double 'waterfall" of the blue brine coming down the West wall.
Work your way up the West wall with jets and grapple, and through the twin 'waterfall" when it opens out behind.

Eventually you will find yourself in a large domelike chamber where the "waterfall" starts. That is the Western end of the Tree Cove.

I did this purely from memory, but the major directions are correct for sure. Hope it helps.

Adding to Dreamrider's advice, I assume you are down there looking for something. No spoilers, but if you look in the center of the big cavern Dreamrider mentioned, you might find that thing. Inside, there's another way out.

I got in the OP's position once because I left my PRAWN standing on sand in the LR too long. It had almost disappeared, when I popped into the hatch to try to jump it out.

Just then it dropped into never-never. I got ready for a long ride to -8000+, and either death or recycle.

Instead, PRAWN dropped back into the world through the ceiling of the north edge of the Castle Cavern. I had never been to the ILS, but I had reconnoitered with camera drones a bit.

God Bless the PRAWN. One of my best adventures in SN ever!

I found the Western Corridor entrance, ducked the nearby Warpers, rushed up the floor of the corridor, and spidermanned up the Tree Cove entrance shaft. Just as I advised our friend. I think I grabbed a couple of kyanite on the way out, too.

Made it back to my Tree Cove shelter Just In Time. My avatar was unharmed, but he was getting VERY hungry and thirsty.

I was SO GLAD I had made it policy to carry two 50oz water, a full stomach, and a salted Reginald whenever I went PRAWNing. Now I carry 2 salted Reginalds, and wear the stillsuit.
Also, I park the PRAWN on top of buildings.

What a story! After that getting down to the lava "in the normal way" must seem trite and boring.
