Looking for good (blind) playthroughs
This may be a little strange but I try anyway. :)

I am looking for recommendations for good playthroughs from youtubers who have never played SN before or who played it very long ago or very little so that it is basically a blind playthrough.

I would like the player to be:
- attentive to / interested in the world and story (they read!)
- not a streamer
- focused on the game, not the entertainment

I very much liked the playthroughs from lilindigestion and Dreamality, I am currently watching playthroughs from The Librarian and lukaelplays. I just love to watch people appreciate the beauty and wonder of the game and who aren't too cool to show some emotion. I can't get enough of it. :)
Anybody have some recommendations for me?

P.S.: May be English or German.

Francis John did a nice play through recently and it was a 'blind' run. He normally plays more technical games (ONI, Rimworld, X4) so he's never really looks at SN.

He does approach things in a more scientific/analytical way rather than the casual way of SN. Eg: he tried to calculate scanner range/distribution to find and collect everything), and his naive ignorance at some things did have me gnashing my teeth a bit (he just swam up to the Aurora...)

Overall I didn't mind watching, though I'm a bit biased as I like watching his Rimworld vids.

That sounds pretty fun, I'll give it a go, thx! :D

Edit: I am a little disappointed by the first episode. He does not read anything and he cut out MASSIVE parts of the game (explosion of and first visit to the Aurora, creation of 2nd O2 tank...)
Does it get better or will it stay that way? Because if it stays that way, unfortunately this run is not for me.

The best playthrough of all time, in my opinion, was from Neebs Gaming:

Yeah, his 1st episode does feel very scattered compared to the rest. Jumping in head first to a New game which he approaches it from the wrong direction (He mentions 'industrialising' titanium and, well, this game doesn't do any real type of "industry").
I'll be honest I completely missed that the extra air tank and Aurora explosion were skipped over, but you haven't missed any thing else from there as he doesn't actually go up to the Aurora until episode 4
I'd still give episode 2 (& maybe 3) a try to see if you like it. He slows down a bit (pause in pda), and starts going through stuff a bit better but he still does everything in a very logical method.

Welonz. She consistently surprised me with how quickly she figured things out and the minute details she remembered.

Well, that is not *exactly* what I was looking for. ;) And although I find the sound quality pretty exhausting (my English isn't THAT good), I'll give it a try. Some day. ;)

I made it until the 4th episode and then I had to give up, unfortunately. He is just... not my type, I guess?^^

After 20 minutes it seems like her play style is exactly what I was looking for. I hope she keeps up the thorough usage of the PDA. Thanks a lot for the suggestion! :)

Mein Deutsch ist nicht so gut, aber dieser Youtuber ist sehr entspannt und hat vom Start bis zum Ende des Spiels über 120 Episoden von Subnautica gepostet.

Hah, that's funny, as I also have that "craving" from time to time (since unfortunately I can't erase the game and know too much for replays :/)

Also we seem to have almost similar ideas about how the player should be... (I'd add "no screaming like a toddler every two minutes because «that generates the views»"-BS)

Welonz was very watchable, Francis is quite a bit strange but was ok, that Neebs is an absolute nope for me because good god that's annoying, and I also don't get how you can't stand Lukaelplays...

Anyway, here are the ones I have watched and found watchable:

And now I go check your names out ;)

I think i saw a let's play of her's a few years ago. The avatar seems oddly familiar.
Thanks for the hint, one of the female content creators i can actually watch without having bleeding ears.

Second vote for Symbalily

Eralia is currently doing a playthrough, but she's on deployment and is very sporadic with her posts, and she very much plays her own style of game that I think some won't enjoy. But she has a phobia of deep water, so it's been fun to watch her deal with that.

Her playthrough is very odd. It seems she has to keep almost completely silent, due to neighbors or something. Tough position for a YouTube gamer to operate from.
