Location of the mushroom forest portal.

For several days I've been searching for this portal. I've watched videos and see that there is a cavern located above it marking where the chasm is. I can't find the cavern, I'm not sure I'm even looking on the right rock wall. Any landmarks I should look for?

That portal can't be activated from that side, though.

It's not very far southeast of Lifepod 13. Look for cracks in the ground leading to a small cave system. However, as was mentioned, it can't be initially accessed from that side.

you will find it, when you activate it from the other side. The activation console is not in the Mushroom Forest.

I'm aware that it can't be activated at this end. I wanted to locate a beacon so I could find it later. I'll check out the area near lifepod 13. Thanks.

You don't need to locate it, since you will come out from the other side anyway.

It's not in the wall, it's in the floor. But it's in the south part of the biome, near the border with the kelp forest.
And make sure you're in the correct Mushroom Forest, there are two. It's in the North West one.

Portals are a bit tricky to find. But that end of the portal is uselles by itself, you need to activate it first.
Once you activate it, cross it from the acivation side and leave the beacon in the other end, that's the easiest way for all those portals. (You need a few beacons, by the way)

If you already have been in the activation palce, and you left that place and you want to go back, I find the easier portal to find the one hiden in a waterfall in Lost River, maybe that works for you too.

Since the portals are hard to find, a useful strategy I've found is to plant a growbed with 6 creepvine seeds in the area. This serves as a natural beacon (although those work as well) and allow you to spot the location from a large distance away, even at night.
