Are you guys ever going to fix VR Controls?
I just got an Oculus Rift S. My first VR system ever. Subnautica is in my Top 5 Best Games ever list and knowing it had VR ability made it the first game I wanted to try. I was so excited. And then I discovered I could move forward, backwards but I couldn't look around. At all. The controls are an unmitigated disaster and completely unplayable. After further research I discovered its been this way awhile and people have resorted to using keyboard/mouse with VR just to play.

Come on guys. No Man's Sky managed some good controls, you can too. It's not too late to patch it in. Think of it as practice for Below Zero's VR controls.

I got an Oculus Quest 1 and I look around by physically turning my head and looking around, it allows me to look in all directions. I eventually had to setup a custom controller binding on the left stick to look left and right to be able to turn left and right with the seamoth.
The right thumbstick doesn't work at all, but the left does. It would be a huge improvement if they could make the right stick work. I still have to use the keyboard for the Save menu and to Self-scan and de-rez items. The touch controllers can (mostly) handle the rest.

The Devs don't appear active at all. :steamsalty: There probably to involved in Below Zero to even care.

We are active, been posting in these forums for years (it just moves very fast).

VR with a game controller (such as Xbox or PS4) should be working fine, we do not support motion/touch controllers at all.

Below Zero will not be supporting VR.

My humble apologies.

Why don't you support touch controllers though? I am using mine all the time and they almost work perfectly. Isn't that odd for something you are not supporting at all?
Imagine how great they would work if you would support them.

Please reconsider supporting VR in Below Zero. It's ok if you add it as an afterthought as you did for Subnautica, at least make it happen.

Wait, wait, wait. Why support VR but not VR controllers? Subnautica was practically made for a VR experience. It's a stunning first person game. I'm sad to hear Below Zero isn't even being considered for VR. It too would be so immersive with it.

I really wish more developers would see that VR is here to stay and gaining more and more popularity.

When we did the VR implementation, we were one of the first. Touch controllers, and their APIs were not around. It would take some significant resources for us to design and implement them properly. It's not just a switch-flip. They need a proper design, implementation & testing. We have no plans to do this right now.

Unfortunately, based on our own data, the VR audience is less than 0.1% of players. We're a small developer and have to pick our battles.

This makes a lot of sense, thanks for being transparent about your decision process.

I understand now. I honestly didn't realize you guys were a small studio because Subnautica has more depth and polish than most triple-A games ever get and Below Zero isn't far behind. I've played every update as it comes out for it. (Loving the story changes btw.)

It's a little less immersive but I will make do with a controller and take a dive back into the depths to fear Leviathans anew. Thank you guys for making amazing games and even doing VR in the first place. <3

It's the never ending dilemma of being a developer: If you cut a feature because it's only half working, then people will complain and say that they'd rather have half of a feature than no feature at all. But if you put the feature in, people complain when it doesn't work perfectly. You just can't win. :) Anyway. Thanks for the vr support.

I sure am happy you went that extra mile and made the VR version. It is the most beautiful (and terrifying) experience and my favorite VR game still.

Have you considered a kickstarter for the VR version of Below Zero? I'd gladly pay extra.

Even if the VR audience might be less than 0.1 today, slowly but steadily more and more people are acquiring VR devices and I bet anyone who has played Subnautica on the PC would also want to play in VR if they could (and dare).

Best luck to you and thanks for all you do to everyone in Unknown Worlds Entertainment!

Or you assumed Below Zero was VR and assuming is one of the biggest mess ups of all time. Basically you should of checked first. If it's not to late, refund it.

BZ doesn't appear to be getting a great deal of credibility anyway. I've just learned there's no Stasis Rifle!!!
