Good base location for mid-end game? (possible spoilers)
I'm pretty sure i'm in the mid game at least now. Figured out I have basically ocean aids that I need to cure in order to use the building gun at the mountain islands. It developed as well.

Got Cyclops, Prawn suit, seamoth. Prawn can go up to 1300m, seamoth 900m, Cyclops still 900m as well but i'll upgrade as I go.

I'm confident that i'm in the mid game by now. So i'm looking for a proper base location where I can easily access most biomes that are mid-end game. I have never built a big base so I am not entirely sure how to go about it. I've got most components unlocked, aside from a nuclear reactor.

What's the general idea? What's a good spot? I've most materials gathered already and they're sitting in my cyclops waiting to be transported.

The typical strategies are to build one large base on the surface and another one in the underground biomes. For the surface base, which seems to be where you are, the grassy plateau region near Lifepod 17 is one of the best spots in the game. It's close to one of the entrances to the Lost River and near the Dunes. It's also a very open and convenient location for moving around the surface.

typically 1 base near lifepod 17 "a VERY early game shack in the safe shallows by the lifepod as well for early game" and then end-game a base in the cove tree in the lost river is my go-to setup

i may/may not build smaller outposts with scanner rooms doted about depending on my resource needs but my 2 "Primaries" are there aka cove tree and lifepod 17

Where is lifepod 17? I'm at 6 right now, I thought 17 was also somewhere around that area.

I should've made beacons.

As the people above have said, the Cove Tree in the Lost River is the standard spot for your late game base. You'll know it when you see it.

Breh... I wasn't aware this was a thing. I thought the signal would just go away after you explored those spots once. This is a thing ?!

You're an actual lifesaver, thank you so much.

You mean the really big tree with all the jellyfish-stingray shiny dudes around it, right? Yeah been there already so I know where it is, good to know.
