Hatching Eggs

Hey everyone, I seem to be having a problem and I feel like I may or may not be retarded. I want to hatch eggs I found in the game, and it's not letting me do so in creative mode. I place a foundation, I put power on the foundation, I build a two floor room with 2x large aquarium inside one atop the other. I place the hatch on the aqaurium door. I then try to place eggs, and it won't let me right click in the PDA and rop them, says not available put in a container instead. So I read the wiki and the wiki says analyze it. I put it in the specimin analyzer and it isn't analyzing the egg, nor does it let me drop it in after. I am playing in the stable branch. Am I missing something obvious or am I just retarded?

You don't put eggs in the aquariums PDA. You just drop them in the tank and either wait four days or use the "fasthatch" command. The specimen analyzer is not fully functioning yet, especially for eggs.

The Aquarium PDA is for the plants only, when I hit tab inside the aruuarium pulling up my inventory, says right click to drop eggs. Won't let me.

You sure what're you're trying to drop is an egg? Can you provide screenshot? If it is, try recreating the aquarium.

Any egg should be able to drop in the aquarium. Never had a problem with this so far. Are you playing in Experimental or Stable?

I have the same problem... Does it say "Can only be placed inside a storage locker" or something?

"Can be dropped here / Only use in a storage container" yes. I get that over and over.

Weird i was able to drop a egg in my large aquarium on my creative game (stable branch). You should report it.

@Feyaden, only asking because your post was so detailed... You're actually getting into the large aquarium (as in, swimming in it) when you try to drop the eggs, right? You're not just trying to drop them at the hatch?

I've heard someone say that the "grassy plateau egg" (the one that shows up greenish yellow in inventory, all others say "creature egg") doesn't drop/hatch right. That isn't perchance the one you're trying to hatch?

The grassy plateaus egg is red and looks like an pill. It doesn't hatch.

my 3 eggs were gone after i loaded my game...does anyone have suggestions?

There seems to be a bug with either the tank rendering or the eggs rendering but when I place an egg into a tank it shakes just a little. If it shakes for just a little bit and stops or rocks your perfectly okay.....sometimes. If your egg starts to move on its own do not leave it. You have to continuously pick up and drop the egg till it stays in place. The reason i say that this works sometimes is because if you are having the shifting bug. The bug where your fabricator and a few other items move from their intended location. The egg will do the same thing it will shift right into the coral bed or right through the floor of the aquarium. If this happens you have 25% chance the egg will still hatch inside the tank, 25% that the egg is still alive and is waiting for you outside your base, and lastly 50% chance that the egg is just gone. I hope that helps as to what might be going on

It seems everything is back in order for me. It must have been a weird stable/experimental glitch because it wouldn't let me drop them back then but now I can, and now they hat without problems. There is a glitch where eggs despawn after reloading the game though, so there is that.

I tried like Alien containment and also tried the aquarium... I can't. I'm in creative and have a gasopod egg and something else. There is room in Alien and Aquarium but I can't place it!

Just drop it out of your inventory.
