[SOLVED] Power Transmitter help
Hey guys,

So I have a Thermal Vent a small distance away from my main base, and I've just built a Thermal Generator near the bottom of the vent, and I'm now in the process of making a chain of Power Transmitters from the thermal vent to my base. However, the Transmitters keep cutting out for some reason, they slowly begin to reconnect but then they cut out again. Does anyone know why this would be happening?

I've been thinking of doing this myself. Do you have a fresh water machine running? I noticed this problem when I turned it on with my solar cells?

If you do, try turning it off and see if the problem persists.
When you say the transmitters cut out, what does that mean?
Does the glowing blue line that connects the base with the power generator via the transmitters flicker or disappear?
Or does the bases power go on and off? Like 0/50, 1/50 then 0/50 again and so on.

The blue line disappears, and then maybe 30 seconds later it begins to reappear, starting from the thermal plant and slowly going along the chain of transmitters, but it'll only remain solid for a few seconds and then cut out again.

I did just recently install a water purifier, I'll see if that's the issue. Thanks!
Have you placed your Thermal plant in an area which exceeds at all times 15*C? It could be the plant is charging from the discharge of the vent and not the constant flow of heat.

The temperature I placed the thermal plant at is about 52 degrees, and I'm making sure it's not damaged by the eruptions.

...The thermal plant only works at 15C (which is 59-60 degrees) you are at 52 degrees.

The thermal plant is supposed to work ABOVE 15C. The OP has it placed way above 15C, which should be fine, assuming it's not being damaged.

To the OP: I've been unable to connect thermal plants on foundations to a base. They have to be on the ground. In that case though I don't recall seeing any blue energy lines at all.
No, I mean 52 degrees celcius.
I'm wondering if the problem is because I'm swimming too far away from the Thermal Plant and it's causing it to "unload" or something like that.
Here are some screenshots:

After a short period of time the lines cut out, but they can connect all the way up the mountain.

it is so bright there, build a solar panel beneath the thermal plant and you will see if distance causes things to "unload". or it is really a change in temperature at this spot. The solar panel will be your indicator for both!

Okay, done, and the power lines still cut out when I swim away. Looks like it isn't keeping the plant in memory, and I'm going to have to move my entire base xD

it is super bright on the screenshot.... and my bases are recharging even when i am miles away... but this could be an illusion, maybe beyond render distance there is no machine working anymore. i am more interested in the answer than you!
thanks for confirming that! now we know render distance is really the distance for everything, fishes are frozen and machines wont work.... this saved me from guiding energy hundreds of meters down, thanks.
one last thing, can you tell us how many meters approximately is this distance? ~100m?
Oh wait a minute...
So you built the thermal plant on a foundation. I had troubles with that too. The foundation couts as a base and the thermal plant will power this base and not the remote base (the one that you actually want to power)
Try removing the foundation (the 4 titanium platform thing) and place the thermal generator on the ground.

@power generators unloading: this was true in autumn, but not anymore. I have bases at 400m depth powered by solar arrays 350m above them and connected by power lines. Power recharges fine.

There is a bug where you can see furniture of the base throught the walls while in the Cyclops. You can use this to look at bases on the other side of the game world, so I think we can say that bases are not unloaded anymore at all.
