Lost River Base Preparations
So I decided to leave my comfort zone and create another seabase in the Lost River, near the Dragon Leviathan skeleton. I need tips, and have several questions:

1. What materials are hard to find down here, but there's a lot in shallower waters? What do I need to bring?
2. What plants need to be planted because they're hard to find, other than Creepvines?
3. I have a Seamoth that can withstand 900m depth, should I bring it down here?
4. Any tips for gathering materials for Cyclops and Prawn depth modules? And the Cylcops Thermal module?
5. Will we need to use the Radiation Suit again? Spoilers are okay for me.

1. There are no limestone or sandstone outcrops, need a drilling prawn to get titanium and copper. I remember lots of copper nodes in the large tunnel that connects lost river to inactive lava zone. Look out for shale outcrops, only source of diamonds. No stalker teeth of course, take a bunch with you. So long as you can drill, there is more than enough of every metal from now on.

2. Acid mushrooms. Grow your own if you want battery/powercell materials handy. Blood oil is not far away but you may want to make a few more bottles of benzine before going down further.

3. I used the seamoth to scout out the place, all but the deepest parts are above 900m. After that I left it at a base. To get both prawn and seamoth down there you either have to make two tedious trips in the cyclops or one perilous trip with a seaglide (cue cliffhanger music).

4. Nickel is easy to miss but there is plenty around if you keep your eyes peeled, same goes for magnatite. Kyanite can only be found in lava zones, some can be grabbed by hand, most requires a drill. Cyclops depth module can be upgraded in situ so long as you have an upgrade table on board, you get a minute or so to upgrade and reinstall before the sub starts cracking.

5. No. Three in-game days after you fix the leak, radiation is gone. Use those slots for rebreather and reinforced dive suit. Don't want to get boiled alive down there.

Thanks for the tip! I'm going to get some more stalker teeth after ascending using the Seaglide. Any tip to farm them? They seem quite hard to get.

Locate a couple of stalkers playing with scrap and watch. Teeth drop when the player is nearby. When I had a base near some stalkers I found huge piles of teeth because I spent so much time in their vicinity.

Forgot to mention salt. Unless you intend to make a filtration machine, you won't get any down there.

Thanks for all the tips! I just recently finished the game, and apparently the Sea Dragon Skeleton is a good place to set up your base, since it's easy to find your way to the shallows or to the lava zone from there, also there's plenty of resources nearby.

Bring a sample of each of the plants you need to eat and craft with except for deep shrooms, those are everywhere down there.
Blood Oil
Creepvine Seed
Acid Mushroom
<the purple one is down there>

Bring 2 aero gel so you can make a thermal generator and a water filter. Bring the stuff for a fabricator as well and at least 1 power transmitter, and at least a small base component to get started.
After that it's just a huge amount of drilling with your prawn suit to get the rest of the stuff. You'll need a bunch of table coral, which is available down there near the thermal vents.
Don't forget your reinforced dive suit.

If you fixed the Aurora you can throw the radiation suit away. You need the reinforced one to get the depth module materials (it's pretty warm down there).

I've been ignoring the cyclops completely lately and just bringing my seamoth down there to build my base. You can't go to the floor in the tree cove area but you can get in there just fine and close enough to build a base with it.

Number one rule of base building in the deep is to have a PRAWN with a drill arm and extra storage.

Make sure you bring seed samples of gel sack, blood oil vine, creep vine. Create an outdoor growbed and start farming.

*Magnitite can also be a pain to find. Might want to hit up a jellyshroom cave first
