The PDAs and other terminals that you collect contain information that hint to what you have to do in order to progress the game. But don't forget to have fun. Outside of that, keep going deeper.

Don't be afraid to dive deeper and craft every new item you can. Also pick up salt and coral tubes for water! You can make so much easily that way. Have fun! I've played this game thru at least 5 times

Scan everything, read the entries, go deep.

Scan everything and don´t read anything from the wiki page.

It's easy to get lost, so place Beacon everywhere,
if you hear loud roar lion like, you don't want to go there

- Read the PDA before you start. It gives basic survival tips.
- The first things to craft are the oxygen tank, fins, and knife.
- Don't collect every little thing you see, you'll very quickly run out of storage space. Look through the blueprints section of the PDA and collect resources for what you're looking to craft.
- The scanner tool is the key to unlocking new tech, so build it as soon as you can and scan everything.
- Once you craft a repair tool and fix the radio, you will start to get signals guiding you to specific places. This gives you a road map for what to do, but always make sure to carefully explore the areas you are led to. They are often near wrecks or other helpful points of interest.

If you are starving/thristy on an island, look for bulbo trees and knife them

You just continuously have to push yourself to go farther and deeper, explore everything and you will be greatly rewarded. Craft depth module tech asap.

Beacons are your friend -- label everything so you can find your way back there later. You can toggle them on and off on your tablet so things don't get chaotic. Collect and hoard resources from the very start. You're gonna need them.

There are fish you can turn into drinking water

Trust the game. The tech tree is logically organized, so that you can get the equipment you need before you have to go to the place where you will need it. Admiral's advice above is the best: Explore every area the game sends you to, don't just make a surgical strike on the beacon location and then skedaddle home.

The sulfur needed to make the repair tool is found behind an annoying fish that likes to chase you and blow up. looks like a red cyclops fish.
