We may see some serendipitous fall-out from the SN 3 project, I suppose. Although, with that game using a different game engine, I don't know how much will port easily.
Besides that, every daily update is either an automatic build that adds nothing or minor language updates.
The stable build and the experimental build are pretty much the same.
There will be no content update, the team is working on "the next game in the Subnautica universe©".
It doesn't necessary mean there will be no more update at all, but even if there is, it won't be like 2.0.
So that's where modders can shine, since any new useful content now depends on them. I think that we all wait for Return of the Ancients mod that will be as good as official dlc. But for now there is bunch of cool and fun mods on nexus and other websites, so I suppose that this game is far from being anyhow dead, even with BZ existing and new game being in production.
For those who do not know,
Ignis
is a UWE moderator, the "voice of the developers" on this forum (and elsewhere), and UWE's primary customer contact person on-line.
His postings are the sign that the dev studio DOES care about the fan SN base, and the nearest to "gospel" that we get here on the status of efforts within UWE.
Thanks for the update, Ignis.
