I have to ask though.... Doesn't killing the animals make the game pointless?
Wanna make things interesting? use Time Eternal mod to keep the game locked to midnight lighting (only locks visually, game clock still functions for timed events, plant / fauna growth, etc), run the game in filmic color in the settings, and don't use any vehicles for travel (Seaglide is fine). Maybe even set up ReShade to turn the brightness down even more, make it a bit more contrasty, and vibrant. Makes the entire surface of the world basically pitch black. I like to call it the 'tidally locked' playthrough.
If you insist on weaponry, I'd also grab the mods that add MORE leviathans, randomize their spawns, and give them respawning.
Not if the goal is to complete the story, that's like calling killing enemies instead of using stealth in a Metal Gear game pointless. It's more a matter of taste / preference.
I saw those mods, however I was kind of hoping someone would have made a weapon that is more modern instead of laser based.
I think there is a mod for that in Nexus, it certainly was a fun tool.
They really shouldn't have removed it.
It was only an exploit if you already knew where to go / dig.
But current mods I'm running is map, better lights and craft/build from nearby containers.
