No more loot in the Aurora?
I haven´t played for a while but remember, that the Aurora was filled with so much stuff I had to carry it away in bags and return several times to load everything in the Seamoth.

But this playthrough (after maybe a year) the ship was almost empty. Found a poster, some empty fire extinguishers, a flask and not a single prawn suit.

Is that a glitch or had the developers a bright idea?

regards

Bags with empty fire extinguishers.... nothing in the prawn bay... no need for door unlock codes... Really strange.
something went wrong with the world generation. Here is how you fix it. Bare in mind that I am still on legacy so if they changed something i havent seen it yet.

1. collect all free loot, dropped resources, empty floating lockers and pick the lockers up too. everything needs to be either in your inventory, a locker, lifepod box, or in vehicle storage.
2. save and exit the game.
3. open the affected save files in the subnautica install directory, game names will have slot names i.e. slot001, etc.
4. open the affected save file.
5. open the cellscache folder.
6. select everything in the cache folder and delete it. (These are the worldspace files)
7. re open subnautica and load your game, and check the blank loot zones again.

this was a fix that was used a long time ago for subnautica, for bloated save files and also below zero, in early access when bladderfish werent always being generated. this process will clear the worldspace and reload all collectibles in their original location. this can also speed up your game as you are deleeting a lot of spare crap hanging around in the cache files.

Depends on what you mean by loot. If you're including batteries, water, food, medkits, and luggage bags, there is still way more than be collected on a single trip. But if you just mean unique items like posters, toys, and modules, so those will only fill about half an inventory.

With that said, if you're not even seeing the Prawn there, you may be having an issue with your game files. It should be there in the same spots of every playthrough.

are you sure that in the prawn suit bay there are no prawn suits? usually there are four of them, one hanging in the air, two on fire ... hm.. and another one...

Nothing! No Prawn Suits, no goodies, no carry all bags. The doors locked with codes were opened (unlocked lock symbol), all chests were open, too.

Everything looks, like it was already looted by someone else.

I wonder if that is the state I left during my previous playthrough and the things I found today are the leftovers I missed back then. So Subnautica "forgot" to reset the game world when I started my new game?

Are you loading from an older save file? The easiest way to check would be to see if you already have the Prawn blueprints.

No, started a new game a few days ago. I reached the point where the sunbeam was destroyed before I made my way to the Aurora. I have the blueprints for the launch plattform and the Seamoth in my inventory, but not for the prawn suit.

Found several already welded open doors on wrecks I have not visited during this playthrough. Also opened data boxes showed up without the PDA inside.

So it is official, something went wrong while my new game was created. :_(

I hope I can still find the needed prawn suit schematics.

Start a Creative, let it run to the explosion, then go check out the Aurora condition inside. Just for more evidence. That should at least establish whether it is just one screwed save file, or a map initialization thing.

@devil_505:
Sorry to tell you, but unless the game is already crediting you with some percentage of the PRAWN blueprint after visiting Aurora, there are not enough torso fragments in the rest of the wrecks to make up a full blueprint.

I am quite sure of this. I have had past extensive discussions about it with other SN gurus, and with Ignis. AND I have been to all the wrecks to check it out.

And claw arm fragments never stacked properly with the torsos to make up a complete blueprint. In SN 2.0, the claw arm fragments have been disabled entirely. They are just decoration now.

You know what this sounds like?

It sounds as if you started a new game, then saved at the end of some early session. Then when you came back to the game, somehow launched into an ancient save game.

When you stopped playing a few years back, did you Uninstall the game? And then did you make sure that the game folder was completely removed. As I understand it, save slots are NOT removed when you Uninstall. So if you reinstalled to play again, there might have been a slot folder with ? the same number ? that the newly installed game tried to create? Something like that.

It sounds like you accidentally opened a saved game. Welded doors can only be cut open, so if they are open then it must be a previous saved game.

There were no old savegames left. I reinstalled my Windows a few weeks ago, most likely I didn´t copy the folder over.

I started the new game on Geforce Now but switched to my own computer later (saves in the Steam cloud). I thought that was no big deal, the same game version on both (71288 from last March).

I started a new game in creative mode (like suggested) and played to the moment of the Aurora explosion (cost me 90 minutes). This time everything is like it should be, Prawn Suits, tons of batteries, posters, PDAs and carry-alls.

I will take a break from Subnautica and play a bit Below Zero before I start a new Subnautica playthrough, This time without Geforce Now. ^^

This is a bug that I have had as well. Started a new game and everything was picked clean.
Try trashing your cells cache folder in that save and let the game build a new fully stocked aurora.

that would definitely do it. The cells store all changes. You might end up with weird ghosting in the radar room if you look for stone chunks though. Sometimes it will say something is there when its not. :/

Most likely a cloud issue, the cloud synchronized your save slot with an older version of a slot with the same name.
