Somehow dodged the ghost leviathan completely and went out of bounds
Dont know how I managed to do this, no mods or cheats, was just curious how far I could get and went on a suicide run into the deadzone. I out-maneuvered the first and only ghost leviathan that came after me, but none spawned after that and got about 8000-10,000 meters away from spawn. So far as in the attached screenshots I started experiencing the floating point glitch with the scanner gun and the underwater mask overlay edges started rippling. Funny stuff lol

From what I remember the Ghost leviathans also stop spawning at some point. Seems like you had fun though! :)

Ghost leviathans only spawn for about 300m off the cater's edge. After that it's just dead, open water. The biome name in F1 will shift when you enter that post-void zone to just be blank.

Oh well damn. I could've sworn there was some scripted event where once out far enough there was an inescapable insta-death ghost leviathan that homed right in on you

Don't I recall Ignis saying that if you kept on, out into the empty part of the Void, even horizontally swimming / driving you would eventually hit the 8140m (?I can never remember the exact number?) boundary, and your PLAYER would teleport back to center?

You may have to be out of / exit any vehicle for that to happen, however.

Yeah, if you go that far horizontally, you'll be warped back to the center. You and your vehicle will be warped, but I believe other objects might be able to cross that boundary without being sent back. For example, punting an object with the propulsion cannon while right near that boundary.

I've also never tried building a base that crossed that threshold, but I'd be curious to see what would happen.

It's 8192m, and no, your vehicle gets teleported too. I've dropped all the way down on a prawn suit, in free fall you move so fast the ghost leviathans can't catch you except when you get out to repair the thing.
