How are the controls with a controller?
I want to pick up this game on a sale, but i'd like to use a controller to navigate the sub, is it designed with compability in mind or it has issues?

I typically like to play my games with a controller, but I didn't try this game out with a controller. Someone else can probably give you a good answer for that, but I thought that the keyboard + mouse controls were actually pretty good for this game in my opinion.

I did a playthrough with a controller without major issues. The game is not configured for auro move by default, and I assigned the sprint binding to it. You can't sprint that way but you're not on foot that much anyway. Auto move takes a little getting used to but it's well worth the trouble in my experience. It's not something you need to do, but it may help streamline travel once you start doing a lot of it. Anyway, if controller comparability is the only thing holding you back then don't let it.

Is the Always Run accessibility option not available when using a controller?
Controller support is basically like how the consoles work, pros, flaws, and all (with amazing compatibility, too).

So equipped inventory sequential scrolling instead of being bound to 1-6 and not being able to place modules where you want them BUT analog movement makes the 6dof much smoother in pretty much all situations.

Can easily play the whole game with the controller.

I think you're talking about Run Mode, that is whether the sprint button/key toggles sprint or you have to hold it down. I didn't see Always Run in the Accessibility menu, perhaps it's a mod? There are several differences between the Keyboard options menu and the Controller options menu. For example you can set joystick sensitivity only in the Controller menu. But Run Mode is in both menus.

Is the dualsense supported? I Tried to use a controller and its basically unplayable. Bindings seem to be inverted? The joystick moves the mouse cursos instead of the camera.. its a damn mess.

Yeah but the game switches it natively, so disable steam input (right click game -> properties -> controller -> disable) then once you load up the game, in the controller section make sure the input is either at automatic or PS5.
