Steam Deck is run on Linux, which isn't optimized for gaming, like Windows.
I do not have a steam deck, but its graphics card was something like a 1050 ti.
On such a small screen with low resolution, the game should work great.
Steam deck handles much more demanding games well.
There are games that work better under Linux than under Windos, I do not remember the examples, but I remember that there were such games, I haven't played for a long time, I'm back for VR games.
In addition, if you do not like how the game works, you can return it, up to 14 days and two hours in-game. That's a lot more than you need to see how many frames at what settings you will achieve.
edit:
Steam deck is not normal Linux, it's more like a console.
You can run desktop mode, but it works completely differently than most people imagine.
Linux is like an onion, ... or the cake is made of layers.
Desktop is one such layer, you can use any desktop layer of your choice.
You choose the desktop layer you like, not one that you are forced to use as in windos.
And that's exactly what the deck does, one layer is the gaming layer, and the other layer is a layer like the desktop of home pc.
Therefore, the deck can be both a console and a regular computer at the same time. This is a very efficient solution.
Have you built a large base?
Have you loaded a lot of pieces of the map into memory?
Sail away from the base, save the game, turn off the game, restart the device.
(Lots of Lockers are only a potential problem if you are running the mod.)
Are you storing piles of stuff outside?
