Yeah....guilty as charged...I tend to 'skim' over the reading in games.....partly cuz I'm half blind and partly cuz I didn't care much about the quirks of a fish. Did read enough to know you could make filtered water and the bouyancy thing out of them, lol.
Also, you can make it from the surface to the Thermal Plant using a single tank if you take the Bulb Zone entrance. That's a lot shorter than the Blood Kelp Trench.
But I do agree, using Bladderfish for air is a cool thing. That actually saved me several times in Below Zero, where it works as well.
I didn't know that worked! I'll keep this in mind if I ever decide to do this again.
This is my second playthrough, so I'm still not the most familiar with the map. my base last playthrough was located close to the trench, so I went there as I'm familiar with the area and the part of theLost River.
Are you sure you meant to say Below Zero? Cause oxygen plants are everywhere there.
I havent found the need to ever make out with a Bladder Fish to get air in that game. Because of the abundance of conviniently placed oxygen plants and/or giant holefish in every location.
Only time i suffocated was cause i got mezzed by a lilipadder while low on oxygen and couldn't find my way back to nearby seatruck cause marker got all screwed up while i was mezzed.
Well....that's a 'no-brain-er' lol. Yeah, that's one of the first survival tactics for air I had found. I use those all the time. And, if you've explored the map enough, you'll realize there's usually one somewhere to be found near a place you need to dive deeper to explore......almost like the Dev's planned it that way....hmm.
When you disable the alien BFG before Sunbeam arrives. They just say there is too much debris in orbit to safely land and they fly away
