so i was a little annoyed about that - since they will have known that people would not have expected the discount to increase in such a short time - but possibly decided the extra profit was worth making customers feel foolish, as well as losing the chance of future sales at higher prices - since i will now not be buying any future game until it is significantly discounted, whereas if they hadn't seemed to knowingly play some anti consumer games i would likely have supported any third game's early access or at least bought it at a relatively high price instead of waiting for a big discount - as well as maybe buying the second game as a gift
but anyway - that's my problem lol
yours is kind of the opposite - worried that it will never be this cheap again
but i am pretty sure it will be this cheap again - although it is possible that they will use the 50% discount sometimes, and the 66% in the bigger sales
it may even go up to 75% one day
but since they just increased the discount from 50% to 66% (with possibly an increase to the base price a little while back) - it's probably a safe bet that this is the cheapest it will be for a while - as well as it being possible that they use the smaller discount in some of the sales
so you shouldn't need to worry too much about waiting - since if it goes to 50% again, i expect they will bring it back to 66% soon after
the only worry should be if they increase the discount yet again soon after you buy it
i would not want to make any kind of predictions that could cause you to spend money you couldn't afford - but for me, if i had seen the discount increase from 50% to 66% between the November and December sales, i would be pretty confident buying it now, figuring it would be unlikely to get much cheaper within the next few months - as well as being worried that they might put it back to 50% for a while
this is the problem with these discount games that get played - it is easy to end up feeling like you wasted money - or that you missed out on the best deal that may not come around for a while - and then when it does come around, you might buy it and then find they cut the price again soon after
not fun - but like i say - they did increase the discount to 66% for this sale, just over 3 weeks after having it at 50% for the previous sale
so i got screwed for 5 bucks or so - but you should be getting the best deal that there is likely to be for at least a few months - unless they really enjoy making their customers feel like fools
good luck
but again - that's my problem
the important thing is that the price did go down - and as most people say, it really is a very fun game for 10 Euros
and for me personally - i play with one life (not using the hardcore mode though in case of bugs or crashes) - and every time i had to restart was not a chore, since the game is good fun - and starting again from the beginning when you know what you are doing is a very nice experience
as is starting a new game without hunger or thirst - since while they are decently done mechanics, the feeling of freedom when you play without them is awesome (and Freedom was a very appropriate name for that mode lol)
so yeah - if you're the kind of person that plays games they like for dozens or hundreds of hours, and likes exploring and gathering resources to craft your way up a progression tree, then there should be some good value here
and the underwater setting is done very well - you will just need to accept some pop in on the graphics - and a decision to hide some distant landmarks from being seen above the water line until you are relatively close (you can justify it in the lore as a trick of the fog/clouds)
EDIT: also enemies that clip through scenery - and some scenery that clips through vehicles and bases - sounds bad, but is very easy to ignore due to the great underwater atmosphere and all the stuff to do in the game
EDIT2: personally i think it is a testament to how much fun this game is, that even though i am annoyed about what they did with the pricing, i still find myself recommending the game to people lol - but obviously people are also getting the better deal now - so that is good :-)
(i would have felt awful recommending it to people in the November sale and then having them see the discount increase from 50% to 66% in less than a month)
Winter Promotion, is the best discount of the year. If you want to buy, do it now.
The game is very cool, very fun to play. If you like it, it keeps you entertained for hours.
If you want to know more, you have to tell what other games you are considering buying and how much they cost, we do not live in your country.
I will not help you, I play vr games I do not know flat games, but probably someone will advise something.
but yes - i totally understand the worry about spending more than you need to
so even if you see it go back up (discount reducing), it will almost certainly come back down again - and likely eventually even lower
so the only thing to worry is being caught out by one discount just before they put on a better one
but i suspect that is rare - especially if you stick to the big sales like Summer and Winter (i will never be buying anything in the sale at the end of November again lol - since i saw a few companies do the same thing and increase their discount between those two sales)
anyway - so long as you never pay more than it is selling for now, you should find yourself getting a good deal
but i wouldn't be surprised if a year from now, you might be able to get both games for the price that the sequel is selling for
anyway - good luck in getting the best deal - i hope you enjoy the game enough that you feel you got good value when you do eventually buy it :-)
