What that meant was if you saved and quit inside your base, when you reloaded the game only a very small portion of the map would be loaded. So your scanner would pick up almost nothing until you went outside and swam around for awhile, even if it found those materials before.
I see. This does make sense, tho I already knew abt this before and Im pretty sure I cleared up most of the scrap metal around my main base
