Breeding some fish. What is the max number that can fit into one?

10 fishes in one, if you connect two bases above and build aquariums in each one, aquarium connect to one bigger with 20 limit of fishes. Did not tested with 3 bases and 3 aquariums.

No need to build two bases. Just stack large aquariums by making a tower of multipurpose rooms and building an aquarium in each. They connect to form a tall one, then you can add in as many fish as you like.

Semantics aside, when you build an aquarium in a 'base', or multi-purpose room (which are both the same in this conversation) you will recieve 10 per aquarium per species. I believe but am not certain that the species is limited to 3 giving you a 30 fish per aquarium maximum. Stack them and you continue to add 30 each time. It may cap at 3 high but am not sure.

No, you can stack large aquariums as high as you like.

So if i only have 2 fish, it wont multiply until the cap is reached? I have to put different species for more fish?

Two fish of the same type will multiply up to the cap for that species. One fish each of two types will not reproduce. If you want more than one kind of fish breeding in a large aquarium, you need two of each type of fish you want to breed.

From a purely practical standpoint, a double-stacked large aquarium with reginalds and airsacks, planted with creepvine, is all you need.

I got a couple of questions about the large aquariums/breeding

1. Do the larger creatures breed (the ones you add with the eggs)? I have several pairs of creatures, and they haven't bred at all (I'm not over the cap).
2. Is there any way of breeding floaters? You can put them inside the tank standing from the outside (you have to repair after!), but they don't breed.

what are creepvines for?

you dont have to do anything since two fish of the same species simply reproduce on their own. Adding more fish just limits that. Now i have 2 aquariums one that is for regular fish and the other for the carnivorous and more lethal species. also you can build the small aquariums if u feel the big one is too daunting a task. But once you get the aquarium it acts almost like a farm where you can simply go in get a fish and cook it and not worry about the trouble of finding one. Thats what I did anyway

i also use that base filtration thing for water. gives me water and salt

1. yes they will breed automatically if u have an aquarium big enough
2. I have no idea never tried it but idt they can actually breed since they are attached i think they reproduce asexually by cloning. which is not in game

Creepvines are used to make fibers which are used to make a swimsuit that gives you back water but decreases your food supply.

I wonder why mine aren't breeding then. I take it one large aquarium is big enough, so long as I have less than 10 things in it? Also I'm playing stable.

I think the larger the creature is, the less it is able to reproduce. also give it some time to let them grow and wander around they will eventually lay eggs. It takes a while but you'll see those little eggs appear whenever you get back

..left click to the eggs laying on bottom or right click & inventory & drop the egg again ..that worked to me. ..like helping them out of the eggs , so to say.
