Self sustaining base
Hey guys,
Whats the easiest way to make a self sustaining base? I'd like to play the game at my own, very slow, pace, and the food at safe shallows is running out

The Floating island from shallows, line up parallel with the auroroa facing the tail end and just go straight till you see it has scannable plantertrays and sthings, just grab a few 'hanging fruit' and an indoor growing tray. then plant the fruit in the tray and you'll have all the food you need.

An easier way is to breed both the airsacks and some sort of food fish in large aquariums. Infinite resources that way and no need to travel particularly far.
Self sustaining bases? Didn't the devs not want people to camp in one biome?

I know venturing out is scary, ESPECIALLY swimming to the floater island. My suggestion is to have atleast 2-3 acquariums, each contaning airsacks and another fish of your choice for a good supply of food and water.

Also a tip. Reginalds are the best fish you can get in terms of food. They give the most (+44).

There can be up to 4 REAPER LEVIATHANS in between the end of the Aurora and the floating island! Good luck!

I don't know what he's talking about, you can swim to the floater island and not ever get attacked by anything as long as you avoid Reaper-infested biomes. Though it can be scary to look down and see nothing but a blue, empty abyss.

I've never seen any Reapers on my way to the floating island. The most dangerous things you will find on the way are sand shark, biters, and a few cave crawlers on the beach. Just bring along a knife, grab some hanging fruit, and you'll be set on food and water for life.

ah, and which biomes do i avoid?

Stay clear of the aurora, stay clear of the dunes. If you swim from your escape pod to the floater island you shouldn't have any problems.

Just don't go near the Aurora and you'll be fine. Reapers only spawn around the ship and in the deeper plains biomes, which aren't anywhere near the path you need to take to the island.

The area around just around the Aroura, and maybe the deep grand reef. As long as you aren't afraid of the dark you'll be fine down there.

btw if u add electrical defence on seamoth u can just zap reapers and they let u go so get that and their no problem to deal with
