Precursor Gun?

On the Subnautica Trello, theres an entry called "Precursor_Gun". Does anyone have an idea of what this might be? A new piece of equipment maybe?

What are the Precursors?

Supposedly they are some sort of intelligent alien race that existed before humans arrived on the planet.

Existed before? Judging by some of the transmitions and PDAs found, they may still be there.

Max- "existed before human arrived" = were there first, before humans found or were on the planet, and may still be there. Polychromatic may be right, and used proper English sentence structure and phrasing in their post.

There was, for a brief moment, leaked screenshots of the Precursor base's placeholder models. They've been taken down, but one featured the Precursor Gun affixed to the top of a Precursor base.
So yes. It is a stationary turret.

Damn it. And to think I was already imagining that they imprisoned Emperor, because he was shooting with his a.r.s.e.

The Precursors are most likely a very advanced life form that possibly existed before humans
if you go to experimental mode you can find 3+ precursor bases which look like lines and lines that form a shape and there is a rumour that the precursors created the warpers which are the agents mentioned in the PDA's they are like hunters and recently the warpers have been released officially and there is another rumour that the precursors created the warpers using sea dragon DNA and they, i think specialise in teleportation because the warpers teleport and in bases there are teleporters. and the warpers are agents like mentioned earlier that need to kill us supposedly we, the humans brought some kind of bacteria that is extremely powerful so they kill so we can't contaminate. and finally our character is the only one alive most likely because they said in PDA's that there is 1 more target. the gun is used to shoot down anything that fly;s or comes overhead sorry for long write up but i just like subnautica.

The Precursors, in order to stop the spread of the Carar Bacteria, created that gun so that it could prevent spaceships from leaving or entering the planet. (So that it woudn't spread to other planets) For more info, go to Subnauitca Wiki

How is just over a month a necro here? All it was is proof that a few people still have the e brain cells to sue the forums Search function, and comment on an appropriate thread, instead of creating a new one. You know you can unsubscribe from any thread that you feel has run it's course, and don't want to get notifications of new posts, right? Then you won;t have to be bothered by people posting on a thread that is over a few days old. You do know that?
