It would still be better to connect them directly, then you wouldn't have an unneccessary stop in your ladder, but that's a great tip, thanks!
Anyplace a ladder can be used to connect two Multi-Purpose Room levels should also be a valid connection point for the vertical connectors on top/bottom of Rooms.
Then we could do stuff like have a Room with 4 vertical connectors acting as pillars for another Room. Fucntional asthetics and whatnot also comes to mind...
Look at the one pic again, the corridor under the room is connected to an adjacent corridor.
I would try building a few other corridors just to get the one placed under the room, place the ladder, then remove the other corridors.
Although, personally, I am surprised such a thing is even possible, since the corridor cannot be built under a room by default.
The second pic is at an angle that doesn't show where the ladder leads, which has me curious/wondering.
it does work, are you trying with a normal corridor or glass cos mine is normal
Another odd factor with the snap system is that it allows me to snap align a mp room perfectly centered atop a vert connector, but the mp room is red. It's like the system knows that it makes sense that an mp room should snap to the connector but then denies the placement anyways.
Basically add corridors to the side to connect the corridor and room in question from the side, rather than trying to directly build them over/under by themselves.
One other thing I am wondering.
Is one person in Stable and the other in Experimental?
Possibly. I haven't tried putting a tube below a room, but I tried putting one above and that didn't work.
Unfortunately, there's little point in doing this - you may as well just put another multipurpose room above or below the room, and from that you get 4 connection points and a choice of where to put the ladder.
We still need verticle connectors to be able to connect to multipurpose rooms.
I am in May Stable build.
