Drill Arm Fragment Location

Hi all,

I'm having difficulties finding Drill Arm Fragment, I already got one, from the grassy plateau's wreck, but I'm missing just one to unlock it, any help? With coordinates if possible ;-)

EDIT : Found them ! For me there was one fragment in Wreck 2 (the one previously mentionned) and 2 fragments in the wreck near POD 17. Yay !

Yup I found them in the same place as the OP. In wreck near lifepod 17 through the door you have to fix with your welder there are a lot of PRAWN fragments and drill arms.

i didn't find a door to fix with my welder and could find any fragments

how do you get the signal for 17?

All the signals are delivered over time. I haven't paid enough attention to be sure, but I think the order is randomized.

Just to warn you, just searched lifepod 17 wreck moments ago on another playthrough. Got torpedo arm fragments, but no drill arm fragments. So it's randomized.

I agree with this assessment. The drill arm was the last BP I completed (frustrating, to say the least) on my current run because the second half spawned in only one location.. and in that location I found at least a dozen drill arms. It wasn't near any pods or signals.

For the record, I'm not complaining. I prefer they be randomized for replayability. Personally, I think there should only be 1 of a given fragement at any location. I'd be fine with, for example, 1 fragment of the drill arm being in 4 different locations, but this way at least you'd have to find 2 of them (or any other bp) to complete it. I was fairly disappointed on this run to see each wreck having 5+ fragments of whatever schematic happened to be in it. It made finding subsequent wrecks much less rewarding.

I don't think that's a final release feature. It just hasn't been a priority to correct, yet.

But yes, it's a little offputting. On the other hand, I have plenty of titanium.

It isn't missing, just look around a bit. The entire game is in a set world and will generate these, and will not fail to.

buder28, save the game and then restart it.

I've only had the game a couple of months, but I've played it hundreds of hours in that time. I never had the issue of disappearing wrecks until the most recent update, but I have experienced it since then. But if I save the game and then reload it, the wrecks appear again.

I do understand that would be frustrating if you get to where a wreck is supposed to be and it simply isn't there.

Something is wrong with your game, buder28. I've never encountered crates floating like that. At some point you should think about starting over. I've had to start all the way over because of glitches before. Don't feel like you have to rush to restart the game, but do think about doing so at some point.

In any case, that's incredibly frustrating. I'm sorry you're having to deal with missing wrecks, wrecks stacking on top of one another, floating crates, missing drill arm fragments, etc..

Hmm.... Well, you could try not adding in all the stuff you've built and simply do it within the game again. I don't think I've ever added an item from the console command. I have warped my way out when my avatar is stuck and can't get out any other way, but that's about it. I also don't play experimental because it doesn't run for me.

I like the challenge of going through the steps to get up and running again. It's actually my favorite part of the game.

Been looking for a couple hours each the last few times ive played and cant find the last 2 that i need.. found a wreck with nothing but prawn suit & torp arm frags tho, YaY me lol

This is really starting to bug the hell outa me with my bad luck.. Gota keep looking I guess :/

the door with the repair thing,, it wont show up and I'm not able to repair.. if I cant repair it then no drill arm for me.

I found the doer I need to weld and I see the broken panel, but even when I have to repair tool equipped I can't weld it, the game doesn't recognize the broken panel as being repairable. Is it supposed to be repairable or did the drill arm simple not spawn in the room and I just got a bunch of torpedo arms?
