Battery charging
Is there any way to charge batteries outside of the battery charger appliance?? Because my seaglide was at like 30% charge yesterday and today when I loaded my save file the charge was almost full at 90% or so :S

Solar Upgrade Module charges the Seamoth at daytime. The closer you are to the surface the faster it charges. If you are right at the surface it charges even more than you deplete by moving.

And of course,if you dock it on a Moonpool/Cyclops it will charge itself back to 100% using the base-power.So if you made a stop there that might be where the power is coming from.

Yeah I knew that about the seamoth but what I meant is, after loading my save file my seaglide got a bit of free charge :S

That's a common 'problem' - some things, like power levels or durability, reset with each load. They aren't saved.

You can craft charging fins with the workbench. Not sure though how effective they are.

Yeah I heard they charge everything fine except for the seaglide.. Im having troubles finding the fragments though.. Ill need to explore way more! a seamoth would really help :(

Didnt get the modification station in the newest patch but in my old safe I could use the seaglide forever when having charging fins equipped.
It simply always loaded the glider a tiny bid and immidiatly used that charged so it always was at 0% but usable. Only annoying thing was that the seaglider light was always on.

the charging fins charge hold item while you are swimming
but when you using a seaglide, basicly you are not swimming
you are moving due to the seaglide is carrying you
I think this is why the charging fins not charging the seaglide

They do charge the seaglide, but slower than the seaglide uses power, so it's still a net loss -- it just takes slightly longer to hit zero. If you've drained it to zero though then it will still give you intermittent boosts as it charges slightly.

The charging fins will extend the seaglides battety life but not recharge it fully.Simple workaround is to swap your depleted seaglide battery with a full one from a tool. When you get a chance just swim around with the tool equipped to recharge it's battery.

hi if you cannot change your battery when you are doing it the right way, reset your keybindings for the game. this is what i did when i had this problem

I don't know what any of you are talking about. The Swim Charge fins will charge the Seaglide just fine, there is no net loss unless you are carrying too many O2 tanks on your character, O2 tanks slow your character down even if they're in your inventory. If you swim or move too slowly in the water, the swim charge fins wont do anything, but the seaglide moves you at a static speed and it is fast enough for the swim charge fins to work.

The energy generation is higher than the Seaglide's energy consumption, thus allowing unlimited use.

While wearing Swim Charge Fins, as long as the player remains moving the Seaglide will slowly gain charge rather than losing it, allowing for effectively infinite use. One recommendation to maximize this feature is to switch a low or depleted battery from another tool with the battery on the Seaglide.
