Report a translation problem
Ofc I'm reporting it in-game, but I just wanted to know if they're really going to fix it, as it seems that they aren't...
https://subnautica.unknownworlds.com/changes-and-checkins
Most of the check-ins are bug fixes.
If you have reproduction steps for your bugs, please tell me.
The thermoblade VFX is considered fixed (in the experimental build) since the tool stays in the hand when moving now, but maybe it isn't completely fixed.
So make sure you have reproduction steps and we'll see if there is still something to fix.
Explain your bug with the scanner room please.
I didn't pay attention to what triggered the Thermoblade bug, but I'll post it when I do find the cause.
For Scanner Room, you've already read and answered my previous post:

Hopefully the next update will fix the bugs soon before I finish the game.
First response/comment above is almost entirely wrong.
(Most authoritative comment is Ignis' above. Ignis is a UWE moderator / community contact rep.)
Yes, there is a major update in preparation, focused largely on glitch fixes, code optimization, consolidation of the series code base, performance improvement.
Developing updates, and beta testing them is what the developer's playable "experimental beta branch" version is all about. See the thread pinned at the top of this forum.
This consolidated update effort is what resulted in the recent release of Below Zero "version 2.0", and in the now forseeable future will give us what is now referred to by UWE as "Subnautica 2.0".
There are many, many discussions and references and explanations of this update effort throughout this forum, over the last 2 years at least. I can't really understand why the preivous poster did not seem to know about it. Or why you have not seen references, IF you are a regular reader of this forum.
The previous poster IS correct that Subnautica is currently considered "feature complete" by the developing studio. This means they are not trying to add any completely new mechanics or functionality in this update, and they certainly are not adding any new story elements.
That having been said, they are backporting several items from Below Zero, which already work in that game, do no violence to to the game flow or story, and can now function in SN because of the code base optimization. These include 3 additional base building components, one change to how hatches work and look when built on land, and an unknown number of behind the scenes optimizations of how certain tools or situations work.
For example, the mechanics and result of wounded creature retreat behavior will change somewhat - they won't always retreat on a vector for 0,0,0. (Actually, it is unclear if that is a back port of BZ behavior, or a tweak to retreat behavior in both games.)
Two big anticipated fixes are correction of items/vehicles/tools gradually sinking through the terrain mesh if left too long, and, prevention of the PRAWN Suit "sticking" on the floors of alien bases. Apparently noticeable improvements to the problems of some players with screen tearing and stuttering in certain situations, as well. (I don't actually experience those problems myself, so they are not universal.)
All of the fixes that will be in 2.0 are active in the experimental branch right now. You can switch your play to the experimental branch if you want to feel the difference, and don't mind that mods don't work in experimental br. Also, experimental br gets continuing developer's updates several times a week as they are polishing fixes. Usually unnoticeable these days, but no guarantees that you won't experience/see something weird (like the infamous "eternal flame" at 0,0,0) for a few days.
It HAS been reliably reported to the fan community that there are several hundred line item issues addressed in the 2.0 update. Some big, noticeable to all, many largely invisible in most playthroughs, or related only to certain rigs.
As with most developers, there are no official predictions of a release date for the 2.0 update. People always seem to take the estimates as a rock hard commitment...on a totally dynamic polishing process. However, the Below Zero portion of the consolidated update effort has already released, and we have a reliable report that they have frozen any new adds to the issue list that will be covered by THIS update, so there is finally reason to hope that we will see the 2.0 update in weeks, or a quarter (purely MY wishful guessimates !!), rather than in another year.
Edit: Sorry. I overlapped with Ignis while I was preparing my wall of text. Give him more weight than me.
BTW. The Dec 2021 update was just a change of a single pointer address, for the Troubleshooting Report, I think. The last substantive update was Aug 2020.
Please edit your post where it says "Previous response is almost entirely wrong." to "First response/comment ...".
I just completed the game and had a few of the commonly reported bugs, but nothing that particularly bothered me. V though if I hadn't had the grapling arm, I'm not sure what I would have done with the prawn suit getting stuck.
(I still haven't forgotten my snappy misunderstanding during my first meeting with Ignis. To this day I still apologize for my conduct!)
