Subnautica
The scariest experience I had in Subnautica
I remember it like it was yesterday, because it was yesterday. Me in my mighty prawn suit, packed with some rare stuff like: kyonite, blood oil and a ton of gold. I just found some cool blueprints and ran from a leviathan. But then I grapple onto a mushroom tree feeling safe, I never had bad stuff happens to me in the mushroom forest. I grapple onto a mushroom tree... And I see my prawn suit fall through ground, I was still inside I got scared. I have a phobia, a phobia of the unknown. And when you are falling into nowhere, it's scary, f*cking terrified I try to grapple onto something, It was too late. My depth meter was going crazy 300,400,500,700,900. And I land on something. I was in the lost river, I try to move and I again fell, but this time I almost s*it myself I looked up and saw the empty eyes of the giant leviathan, his empty skull. I turned off my pc, I was generally scared. I m not a youtube, I watch scary movies without even closing my eyes or showing any human emotions. But what happened to me scared me too much, the fear of going deep without stop or escape got me scared, I didn't open that world again.(sorry for terrible English, I m not a native speaker)

your story spooked me friend, very good
Dude, that is some serious luck, falling right on top of the skull like that. Can we get a size comparison between it and the lost river?

The skull is slightly bigger than the Cyclops, I'd say.
Funny, I thought the Boneyard was somewhere under the Sparse Reef or Grassy Plateau, not the Mushroom Forest. After all, if you enter the Lost River through the Grand Reef and come out the other exit, you're in the Blood Kelp 1 trench, and those are the two biomes between them. Well, I suppose it could be under the Sea Treader's Path, too. Still, way bad luck there.
The hell is sparse reef, I might be calling the biome wrong

Prominent features include a series of cliffs with large vertical spikes (stalagmite-like) on them, lots of Limestone nodes, large quartz and lithium deposits, openings to the Tiger Plant Caves with those creepy Eystalk plants in them, funny green coral mounds, Reginalds, Spadefish, Shuttlebugs, and the occaional Bleeder. South of the Dunes, West of the Grassy Plateau, East of the Sea Treader's Path, and north of the Grand Reef. Cross the top of the Blood Kelp 1 trench going south from the Dunes and Sparse Reef is what's on the other side, unless you're too far west and end up in the Sea Treader's Path. Also that spiky shell grass stuff is only found here, I think.

Bet that was scary, I've fallen through the ocean floor, like from a bug, when the ocean floor texture hasn't loaded fully and there's a tiny rip that you just fall through. I just kept falling into complete blackness, it was silent, and yea the first time it happened I truly was scared. That initial sense of it actually happening to me came and went quickly though because I remembered I can just quit without saving in a video game and I would be alive and my prawn suit would not be stuck thousands of meters beneath the ocean floor.
But I can't say that that was the scariest moment for me in Subnautica. The scariest moment for me was all the horror elements of the game hitting me all at once. You see, I discovered The Lost River through the Blood Kelp entrance, where all the quartz is at. It is extremely dark there and I only had my seamoth. The path that lead me to The Lost River was even darker, had a lot of little tunnels, turns, dead ends, and the worst part was once I lost the path, it took me almost an hour of climbing in and out of my seamoth, trying to conserve energy because it was almost out, and desperately trying to find my way back, with my thirst and hunger depleting. & I was too scared to die and spawn back because I truly did not know where the hell I was or how I would find a way back even with the seamoth beacon. Nearly an hour later when I found my way back, I was for real sweating and my I could feel my heart rate starting to go back down again. Truly one of the scariest moments I've had playing this game.
Oh yeah like an idiot I saved when landed on the skull, so I will not see my suit again

Ohh, so that's why I found a spare Exosuit under the skull! (well, okay, I really did, but this isn't why)

lol nice
I'd say, the first time my seamoth was grabbed by a Reaper. Fortunately, I could exit throught the back of the Seamoth. I even had the balls to return for my seamoth, without using anything else but a seaglide.

But recently, my most scaring moment was the first time a blood leech grabbed my arm. I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate jellyfishes and that thing is like an intelligent bloodthirsty jellyfish.

Aside of that, every moment I'm exploring some wreckage using a non-upgraded air tank, running out of air, and getting lost or stuck in the shipwreck. Playing hardcore btw.
