The skull is slightly bigger than the Cyclops, I'd say.
Prominent features include a series of cliffs with large vertical spikes (stalagmite-like) on them, lots of Limestone nodes, large quartz and lithium deposits, openings to the Tiger Plant Caves with those creepy Eystalk plants in them, funny green coral mounds, Reginalds, Spadefish, Shuttlebugs, and the occaional Bleeder. South of the Dunes, West of the Grassy Plateau, East of the Sea Treader's Path, and north of the Grand Reef. Cross the top of the Blood Kelp 1 trench going south from the Dunes and Sparse Reef is what's on the other side, unless you're too far west and end up in the Sea Treader's Path. Also that spiky shell grass stuff is only found here, I think.
But I can't say that that was the scariest moment for me in Subnautica. The scariest moment for me was all the horror elements of the game hitting me all at once. You see, I discovered The Lost River through the Blood Kelp entrance, where all the quartz is at. It is extremely dark there and I only had my seamoth. The path that lead me to The Lost River was even darker, had a lot of little tunnels, turns, dead ends, and the worst part was once I lost the path, it took me almost an hour of climbing in and out of my seamoth, trying to conserve energy because it was almost out, and desperately trying to find my way back, with my thirst and hunger depleting. & I was too scared to die and spawn back because I truly did not know where the hell I was or how I would find a way back even with the seamoth beacon. Nearly an hour later when I found my way back, I was for real sweating and my I could feel my heart rate starting to go back down again. Truly one of the scariest moments I've had playing this game.
But recently, my most scaring moment was the first time a blood leech grabbed my arm. I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate jellyfishes and that thing is like an intelligent bloodthirsty jellyfish.
Aside of that, every moment I'm exploring some wreckage using a non-upgraded air tank, running out of air, and getting lost or stuck in the shipwreck. Playing hardcore btw.
