Warper Counter
Is there a way to counter warpers? I wanted to go down to the lost river (used the blood kelp zone to get there) and I discovered a Warper. I tried to go about my business to avoid it, however it targeted me. It pulled me from my Cyclops and teleported me outside and did a decent amount of damage to me. I went back into my Cyclops as quickly as I could and patched myself up with first aid kits. I got in my Prawn Suit which I was carrying and dropped down. I had duel torpedo arms ready and tried to kill it, if not kill it, then incapicitate it long enough for me to GTFO. It was a fruitless attempt and it teleported me out of the Prawn Suit, and I went BACK into the Cyclops to get more first aid, and when I came back out my Prawn Suit had been critically damaged. I don't know if it was the Warper, or if it just crashed, or both, or something completely different. I got it back into my Cyclops and attempted to escape. When I made it back to my base my Prawn Suit had been destroyed, which I assume was because I had knocked my Cyclops into the rock trying to escape from the Warper, and the suit only had 8 percent health left. I haven't gone back down into the blood kelp zone again since this, and this is the only time an attack has ever actually done some damage like this.

Which poses my question.

Is there a way to kill a Warper? If not kill, is there a way to incapcitate it for an extended period of time. I assume the stasis rifle is my best shot, but I want to know if there is a better way of doing it that I've completely missed.

(Unrelated but game's fantastic and sometimes scares me more than horror games are supposed to. Kudos to devs)

What about the Prawn Suit, what do I need to do? Torpedos? Propulsion? Punches from the hands?

Charging them with a Seamoth or utilizing the Stasis rifle are 2 effective measures of dealing with them. Pretty sure the corpse teleports away/ it runs away if you hitit enough.

But what's stopping it from teleporting you outside of your seamoth or teleporting you around when using the stasis rifle. Last i checked the stasis rifle only stops movement, not attacks.

They are incapable of teleporting you when in the stasis field, but they are capable of fleeing through teleportation. You'll have to utilize the Seamoth's mobility in order to evade the attacks until you get close enough to bash em.

The same thing happened to me i was like 600 M down idk what the area is called and i was just running around adventuring in my prawn suit i saw this huge ass electric creature thing and hit it enough to scare it away then i made it to a gas lake thing on the bottom with tons of uranium and all of a sudden i heard a noise nothing sounded like a warper and all of a sudden i get teleported out of my suit into the middle of nowhere and i lost signal to my prawn suit like it was never made and i saw no enemies idk if it was a new different creature ive never seen but i just went back to another save and ima not go down there withought saving first xD do you know what it is?

I haven't tried it yet, but I'm told that Warpers will not teleport out of a Stasis bubble unless attacked. So you can't stasis-knife them to death, but you can pin them in place and run, or get past them. In theory. They still worry me that they may introduce the same kind of futility gameplay that too many overspawning predators can do in the early game: you can get away, but you can't actually get to your objective without dying.

Um as far as I know Warpers can't get you inside the Cyclops or did they add that Experimental?

yes i was in cyclops and it teleported me outside, this was months ago when i last played. So not sure if that is still a thing but it did happen to me, also i was playing in experimental

Does the warper's damage scale with time or something? First time running through the Experimental branch here and encountered a Warper early on as I just finished attending the Sunbeam event, right by the mountain. Faffed around looking at it from inside my Seamoth and let it hit me once, which pulled me out and did like 5 damage (only a rad suit) and nothing to the Seamoth. Scanned it like 10% before it disappeared.

Last I read and experienced, being ripped out of a vehicle is supposed to do more than 5%. Thought it was more like 20 - 25%, and their claws in the normal 30 - 40% range. Never been clawed by one, though.

Drill arm on PRAWN suit.
Really a grappler, jumpjets, a thermal generator, an efficiency upgrade and a pressure compensation device (MK III if you can make it) make the PRAWN a weapon to be reckoned with.
Torpedoes go to your target, the grappler brings you to your target.
you are the torpedo

Also if you want to cheat a little and have unlimited power in your 'clops all you need to do it spawn in two more efficiency upgrades and build a couple of power cell chargers (three of them should do it along with an ultra pressure compensator) then it sidesteps the laws of thermodynamics and makes plenty of free energy.

I was so mad I couldn't do anything near the blood kelp zone wrecks because a warper kept targeting me that I was going full suicide on him with my seamoth (it was almost destroyed and I had no torpedos, so I was going to take him with me or die laughing) and guess what? I must have done so much damaged because the damn thing teleported away and never came back, plus I got to keep my seamoth as it still had 4% health left.

Hug them. They have been leaved by creators allone on this plannet.
All what warper want is just to have a friend. Thats why Warpers teleports behind You. To hugs you plenty. Q_Q
