Concept Art Submarine sizes
I dug up the concept art submarines that were lying around, and decided to do a size comparion of them to the Cyclops. Here's what I ended up with.

There's the Cyclops, the Manta, and one that I like to call the Shark. So without further ado, the size comparisons:

Manta to Cyclops:

Shark to Manta:

Shark to Cyclops:

I used the pilot at the helm as a point of reference for sizes. I also took the liberty of rotating the Manta and Cyclops, so that they'd be angled the same as the Shark, more or less:

And lastly, an alternate version with each submarine spread out so you can make heads or tails of which is which:

So basically, the Shark is twice the height of the Manta, and also twice the length of the Cyclops. And you thought the Cyclops was big...that said, the Shark could only really be comfortably be deployed in the Grand Reef, Dunes, and Koosh Zone. Maybe also the Lost River and Lava Zones, but it'd have to be spawned down there. The Manta could be deployed in all of those and maybe get into Lost River safely, if it goes through Blood Kelp. But besides that, they're all too impractical for deep exploring, which is where the Cyclops, Seamoth and PRAWN Suit all come in.

I wanted to do a size comparison of the Aurora to the Shark but sadly, I cannot get a solid enough picture of the Aurora with a person on it.

There was also this submarine that I've taken to calling the Dolphin. I couldn't make size comparisons of this because unlike the other submarines, there is no pilot at the helm for point of reference:

So there you go, that's the kind of submarine size that was thought of at least one point during Subnautica's development. I have the feeling that if the developers allowed mods to be possible, someone may attempt to bring these huge machines to life. Rest assured, they'd be a lot more expensive to create than the cyclops, though. I reckon the Manta would require twice as much enameled glass, for example.

the thing you called "dolphin is just a really old concept art for the cyclops

Thanks for taking the time but they seem slightly out of proportion. The cyclops seems too small in comparison that is. For that reason i can't see many places these submarines would be useful, due to their size.
