y is the depth which show on the middle of the screen
z is the width.. towards west is 0~-2000 towards east is 0~+2000

N-S is X
E-W is Z
Depth is Y
But it displays X Y Z on the F1 coord screen.
Its just been so long since I have had need to know which side is X or Y, I actually wasnt sure! Been a while since college days...
According to the image you refer to your explanation is totally incorrect. The image shows x as north/south, y as east/west and z as vertical (up/down). I am sure this is the way radio control is also explained as forward/back, left/right, and up/down (altitude). I have been flying both rc planes and helicoptors for several years.
In the game the compass points as follows:
+X is East
-X is West
+Y is North
-Y is South
+Z is Up
-Z is Down
Aurora is the best landmark
Again, it's normal to display the coords in the order X Y Z. You know, you could have worked all this out yourself by simply moving and looking to see what numbers change, and now that other people have joined in and given incorrect information, I would suggest that this is what you do to confirm what we are saying.
I don't know what he's on about, but just ignore that; nobody write coords in the order "X Z Y".
No it doesn't, you either didn't look at it correctly or you're confused by the perspective.
"0 -2 0" It's the center of the world at a depth of 2 meters
Yes, but you call those coords X Y Z, NOT X Z Y. The axis are not labelled in the game - I don't know where you're getting this from.

X is east/west, Y is up/down, Z is north/south, that's the order that you write them, and that's the way everyone does it.
It's not just my way - please just do your own factchecking if you don't believe me.
So if I hit F1 and look at the coords, and If you look at a printout of the map on flat paper, then X is East West, Z is Depth, and Y is North South.
Although it is incorrect to use the coordinates as XZY, that is how it is shown on the F1 Debug Screen.
So is this correct?
No - and I apologise for my compatriots who can't remember school, but feel confident enough to correct people who have studied science at university (Molecular Biology - and that did involve plenty of graphs). Also before that I did A-Level Maths (Pure and Stats).
X is the first coordinate - east/west (positive east, negative for west)
Y is the 2nd coordinate - depth (greater negative values mean deeper)
Z is the 3rd coordinate - North/south (positive north, negative south)
Despite being completely confident already, on being told I was wrong I did my own checking to confirm all this. The only time it could get confusing is if you're just given 2 coords, and if that's the case then they've given you X and Z in that order (first and 3rd coordinate as displayed), and they expect you to work out what Y is yourself.
Edit: Sorry I may have added to confusion by saying earlier that Lara was correct, but she confused X with Z.
