Exterior growbeds are great, but they suck.
just as the title says, exterior growbeds are great, but they suck, and the reason for that is how terribly picky they are about placement. it's almost impossible to make a good sized garden without needing to place a foundation, if only the exterior growbeds could sink/clip into certain surfaces a little bit, like sand or dirt on the island. but the actual available space for placing them is slim. So i wanna know are there any mods that remove the red placement restrictions? it would be a great help.

Currently the only mod out there for expanding your exterior planting options.

I always plant down a foundation or two. They don't use many materials, and they can hold up to four exterior growbeds each.

This^. Though you can fit more than four and still have a good looking garden.

I find it helps to remember that it's only when you're up close and placing it that you can see it's a little off center to the one next to it. But once you move back to where you will be looking at it from it will look just fine.
That hard part is remembering this when you're placing them.

Gee, and I did a request for this mod not long ago, how I didn't found it before? I'm getting old...

If you're careful you can fit six. Maybe more.

No, you just place some so their hanging slightly over the edge. I'm even doing this very thing in my image (to toot my own horn) so I can have six of them but still have one in the middle for the lighting/air.

Oh, ok. That's actually pretty cool! I've never tried this, but can you stack foundations?

If you want to build things other than or including foundations under another foundation you have to place the higher foundation first (and normally high up) before you place anything below it or the game won't let you place a foundation if there's anything built in the area below it.
