Always spinning with controller
I have a problem, I can't play this game with a controller (which is pretty much mandatory for VR), my character always spins to the left, and also all the sliders in the options menu move to the left when I highlight them, like if my right thumbstick was stuck on a left position. I'm using Steam Controller support to use a generic usb gamepad as XBox controller. Using X360ce does the same. I don't have any HOTAS connected, nor any other usb device, besides the Oculus Rift sensors, Headset, and a smartphone I use for USB Wifi thethering. This is the only game that has this problem. Is there any way to solve this?

Set the controller profile in big picture mode to a default and then relaunch like normal, or turn the controller off entirely.

But I want to play with controller. Even disabling Steam Controller Support, I still get that spinning. The button layout is messed up so it's not recognizing it as an XBox controller, but I still get the spinning. It's like the game was taking input from something that isn't a controller.

Unplug it. Start VR game. Plug it back in.

Other USB devices can also be interfering with this because of unity and it rolls with that.

Doesn't work, it starts spinning as soon as I plug it back in. I also tried disabling all the devices under HID category in device manager, it doesn't help. Some people say VJoy causes that, but I don't have it.

What happens if you move the analog stick to the left (assuming it goes right).

Thats a deadzone issue. There's controller settings to fix that as far as I know in big picture mode.

It's not a deadzone problem, the game is constantly moving the right stick to the left. Even if I try to move it to the right, there's a left input signal. When I'm at options, if I highlight a slider, it goes all the way to the left, and I can't move it to the right. Subnautica is the only game that has this problem.

I have the same issue with my ASUS gamepad. Don't know how to solve it.

I have this problem with a steam controller. I can play any other game (even those without controller support) with no issue, so it’s definitely subnautica. I’ve searched for a couple hours and have yet to find a fix. Pity too, it would make a great game to play from my couch.

I don't have the game right now, but I remember I managed to make it work sometimes. I can't remember how tho.

I think one thing I tried and worked was disabling the analogs on my PS2 controller until the game started, and then enabling them again. But since you're using a Steam Controller, that's not an option

Also, I'm playing Mortal Kombat X right now, and I noticed that game has some problems with double input (pressing "B" triggers both B and A, like it was taking both the normal controller input and Steam Input), but I solved it by changing the controller settings from "Use global (Xbox)" to "Forced On". Maybe you could try that if you haven't already.
