What exactly is powering the PDA?
Everything else in the game is battery, solar, thermal, or nuclear powered. The PDA is never seen having anything on it or put into it that would imply it was powered this way.
So does he just use his dead crewmates PDAs when his dies???

Probably works like the Thermoblade: you use a battery to make it, but it doesn't have a charge or need the battery replaced.

The handle of a PDA is designed to be able to leach bioelectricity directly from the cells of the holder to keep itself charged while also keeping its energy use minimal to avoid harm to the user* when in use.
Fun Alterra approved fact: Items like the thermoblade work in much the same manner.

A PDA when not being held will go into a dormant state to conserve power which, if remaining undamaged, can allow it to remain functioning for years until a operator picks it back up by the handle.

All Alterra based clothing and suit products are made in such a way as to fully allow the PDA to draw power from its user with minimal to no interference to the devices operation.

*99.6857% of the time. All believed cases where the PDA resulted in negative effects to the user were proven to be of no fault of Alterra or any Alterra own affiliates in a legal Alterra overseen court of law and seen as most likely the result of "user error" if they took place at all.

Some items like the Light Stick are crafted using a battery but then have essentially infinite power beyond that. I'd assume the PDA is battery powered and just incredibly efficient.
