Then if you have played less than two hours of it and think "I'm not having fun with this", refund.
*Edit* Oh I should also mention that if you haven't already you should also ask this same question on the BZ steam forum.
As for whether it's worth it, that depends on what you liked about Subnautica. If you were really into the exploring and base building, I'd recommend it. If you were more about the experience of being isolated and enjoyed the tension/horror aspects, I might not recommend it, since those aspects were removed.
If you like subnautica but wish there was more story bz is ur thing!
Nothing ''horror'' about Below Zero.
The Leviathans are way less scary, and because the feeling of being alone is gone it feels very different from the original Subnautica.
-clunkier vehicle (no more Seamoth)
-more constricted biomes (since there will be a lot of ice in and on water)
-weaker story (hard to make a better story than that of the original Subnautica)
-debatable likeness of the female protagonist (i personally dislike her immature sounding voice and brash attitude which only proves sometimes protagonists should be mute because the personality and voice will rub half the people the wrong way, while mutes never will)
etc.
but all those things don't make Below Zero worse, they just make it different, for better of worse depending on your own preference. visually it's stunning and has more detail than original since it's a newer game.
like many people have said original Subnautica reins supreme and always will, but it would be a shame to miss on a direct sequel which expands on the story and gives you new areas to play in, regardless or not how slightly inferior they may be to some players. developers did a great job and it's not fair to judge a game based on comparisons with the original.
holidays are just around the corner so i'd advise you to wait for a discount if you're tight with money.
