The easiest place to find fragments is the Mushroom Forest(s). Other than that, you can potentially find fragments at the large wrecks in these biomes:
- Blood Kelp Trench
- Dunes
- Grand Reef
- Mountains
- Sparse Reef
I strongly recommend the Mushroom Forest, since you can also find Cyclops fragments at the same time.
Also, Don't fear the Reaper. You have Decoy torpedoes which kinda work. A little. Sometimes.
The fragments in the Mushroom Forest aren't just at the wreck, they're scattered around the ground all over the region.
Anyway...
The important thing to know is that fragments are slightly randomised between runs, but there are certain patterns of where you can find this or that.
Moonpool fragments are more or less mid game fragments and don't usually spawn too far away. According to wiki they spawn in either/or Mushroom Forests or Sparse Reef (the gloomy empty area on approach to Floating Island / Keen's Lifepod).
The latter is where i found mine last time.
