how do i get the "return of the ancients" mod since i looked everywhere and all i found was the de-extinction mod and thats all i found can someone help me?

all of you are useless to this guy. ROTA is still in development by the mod owners, the youtubers just so happen to have access to the mod to PREVIEW it. Once the mod is ready the devs of the mod will release to the PUBLIC. So it is not exclusive to youtubers but it is still in its final stages of development.

Just because a select few could run the mods doesn't mean everyone could. Not everyone has god tier super computers that can handle a ton of stress.

right, but for those of us that could, or want to try, should still be able to try, Im a bit ticked off at the moment if there is no way to play them as seeing them made me interested in Subnatica again and I just spent an hour combing through Nexus to find them and dl some other mods.

i read all of it so you are saying its coming back except its just being worked on? if so im sorry for starting this post in the first place about hate against people who have pcs that can run the normal game its just why does it always need to be on patreon making you have to pay atleast over 145 dollars a year on just getting a mod

I can't say I agree with their choice to go to Patreon, but that's their choice.
They make a lot of custom assets for their mods.

Their old mods are available for free, and the Patrons only get exclusive access to mods in Alpha (so really early access).

They will return to Nexus, but in the meantime, you should check their community Discord and see what they have on offer.

except by basically making you pay for using mods, they entered into a legally grey area, as mods are generally aloud as they are free and don't effect the perceived income that the company that made the game the mod is for. By saying, "pay for my mod" you now are getting dangerously close to, and possibly crossing, copyright laws, especially if you are using other owned assets as well, like what happened with the Atlas submarine mod. Also when you are paying for what, four times what the game costs to get access to mods? It's ludicrous, and they deserve getting flak, as it makes it look like you decided to move your mod just to make money that's borderline illegal.

Last I checked, that's where you'll find everything.

Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, no one can actually ask questions on their discord, as there is very little com traffic and it says "you don't have permission to post on this channel" for the sections. And there is only a couple of users posting, I'm guessing just the mods makers.


Thanks for the links though. At least they claim they'll make them free "once there ready" whenever they deem that will be.

no it was becuase of nexus mods tos changing making fcs not agree with it but their mods are back up on a different place to have actual good mods being allowed on nexus platform

To be fair, they are trying to add not only two giant Leviathans of the Gargantuan but also adding other things to make the world more alive.

i think its related to a glitch that had to do with customize my spawns, with both current and their new species they wanted to add. i think the issue with the mod, was it was endlessly spawning large amounts of fauna, which after a while tanked the performance. low and high end computer users both.

So why does that explain why the mod should be unavailable? Not everyone can run BF2042 or COD MW2 yet that's sill available.

not even there patreon backers have it. its only big name content creators. if you go there there patreon it says in big bold letters (we are currently not offering any form of early access for any of our mods. including return of the ancients.)
