Need diamonds
Hello. I've been trying to get a diamond in order to get the laser cutter. I can't seem to find diamonds anywhere. Does anyone know the best spot to find them that's above 250m?

You can search the caves on the alien island in the northern mountains biome. In many cases you don't even need to go underwater there though you can also search the caves underwater. But there is also a vertical wall that is close to the front of the Aurora. You don't want to be at the front of the Aurora because if you are there you will encounter a Reaper. The place you want to search is just a little to the west of the Aurora crash zone and this vertical wall I speak of drops down into the northeast Mushroom Forest biome. There are other locations as well. The northwest Mushroom Forest as it borders the Underwater Islands biome and a Grassy Plateaus biome (though these may push your 250 meter limits a little) and you can also search the Jellyshroom caves (though they too might be pushing the 250 meter limit).

Head southeast from Lifepod 6 in the grassy plateau (i.e. head in the direction of the Aurora). There is a sharp cliff face that separates the crash zone from the mushroom forest, and it's covered with shale outcrops (actually right underneath Lifepod 4). This area is easy to find, shallow, safe, and usually only about 500-600 meters from the starting lifepod.

Can I tell the direction without a compass? I still am not able to craft one.

I'll try this I'll be close on air but I'll park my seamoth as far as it goes and use a seaglide to get that deep.

Yeah, just swim towards the middle of the Aurora.

Another question, will the Aurora cause damage to the ecosystem if I don't fix the core in time?

No, but there will be radiation in the area around it until it's fixed, meaning you need a rad suit to go there before you fix it.

You can find Shale Outcrops in Jellyshroom Cave, which can contain Diamonds. One of the entrances to Jellyshroom Cave is right next to Lifepod 17. Just keep your distance from the Crabsnakes.

I already have the rad suit. I'll try to board it and fix the core, though. If I can find an entrance to the ship lol.

I mean, the PDA said it would, so I really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hope so. ♥♥♥♥ the entire ecosystem on this planet, everything was trying to kill me and my character is going through a living hell from beginning to end. If I were really in that situation, I would probably be livid. So every form of life on that godforsaken ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crater can ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ get radiation poisoning and die, for all I care.:lunar2019madpig::lunar2019crylaughingpig:

If you saw the Aurora explode, then go to the front and look around in the opened area for an entrance. Be careful of reapers.

What about food? Your food will be poisoned if it actually destroyed the ecosystem.

Thank you so much! Found shale outcrops and mined every one I saw lol. Wasn't even that hard to find didn't even use the lifepods as guidance to get there.
