Where would be a good, safe place to release my cuddlebuddy without risk of him getting eaten?
He just hatched, and the safe shallows, ironically enough, are probably not all that safe for him. I was thinking the nearby mushroom forest, close to lifepod.... 13, i think- never built a habitat that deep before, and might be a bit concerned about hull stability, lol. Is it safe for the little guy?

You don't need to worry about the Cuddlefish's well being as they have a health pool of 10,000.

Also does he stick around the general area I left him in?
I haven't tried it yet, but maybe the cuddlefish could be put on a "leash" with the grav trap?

Put it in the Bio reactor and it'll be safe for the rest of it's life.

You realize how fast that drains with gasopods, etc right? They don't heal either.
Well ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ done making OP even MORE scared than they likely need to be! Now they are gonna have it follow them for the entire game and literally get eaten by a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Sea Dragon!

Honestly, no place is safe for anything. The safest would be the inventory. Second safest would be in an Alien Containment Unit, though there's a danger of glitches and overpopulation risk. I kept mine as an egg and hid them in my locker.

Lol, I read that the game won't let you put them in the Bioreactor, sadly. Not sure, as I haven't tried it yet.

They tend to stay in the general area you release them, so a safe place would be (spoiler warning for mid-late game) The Tree cove in the lost river, the only thing that hurt you in there is deep shrooms if you're too close to them when cutting, and cuddlefish can't use knives as far as we know.

the bioreactor is probably the safest shelter you can give him. He will be safe in there for the rest of his life.

you can create a base of many habitats, without proper reinforcement... when it floods you can release it in there.

I just put all mine in a x2 alien containment with some creepvines, and cover their building in windows so they can see out :)

Get in you Seamoth and press ''W'' for a while. Direction does not matter.
At some point you'll get a message about entering the ecological deadzone.
If you hear that you'll know you've arrived.

Best place to release them. They love the void.

Outside of keeping him in the ACU, the safest place in the game is the Cove Tree. Let him swim freely in that area.

No they don't, don't follow this terrible advice that will get them brutally killed and eaten.
