Needed to add a few mods and you will want to play with a game pad (im using an x box one controller). I definitely wouldn't play it without the VR Enhancements mod from the Nexus though. It adds in some things that were taken out and makes a few changes to make for a better experience.
Im having same issue - Rift s - Its not the VR set, Its the game and a known bug that they are simply to lazy to fix, Its a dam game breaker. If you open your inventory - the next time you press A after getting out you will loose controller control. so you play like 5 min and your done. U might as well just uninstall it or play it flat. They appear to be to lazy and don't give a crap.
Why am I and several others able to play using both the original touch controllers and the xbox controllers without problem if it is the game that is bugged?
I've never experienced this bug and everything has worked 100% stable. I've heard there are different version out there based on where you bought your copy. I bought my copy on the Steam store. I run SteamVR and start Subnautica from there. Where did you get yours and how do you get started to play this game?
This bug seem to be picky with whom it chooses to manifest for and I'd like to get to the bottom of this.
For fun VR games, No Man's Sky is my current favorite regular game that's ported into VR. Some people have problems with performance, so it can take some tweaking to get it smooth enough to play. It's not perfect on mine, but definitely playable and I enjoy the VR enough that I'm not tempted to go back to the flat screen.
I also play The Forest, though figuring out the controls is difficult and it seems that some things, like blocking, just don't happen. You also need to read a recipe guide because you won't get the recipe hints in VR that you would on screen. But it's still fun to walk around in.
Yes, the keys mentioned in the Controller binding is "backwards" whenever they say right trigger, it is actually left trigger and A is X and so forth. No biggie. It's a great VR game as long as you figure out how to setup a playable controller bindings!
I ended up refunding the game. As it was a stuttering mess. I tried mods, hacks nothing seems to work & it's the only VR game I have that just didn't work. Looked pretty cool I wanted to make content for my VR channel but the game is absolute trash in VR. Oh well.
