If you can't count how many teeth it has, this means it wants to eat you.
If you can count how many teeth it has, this means it is eating you.
Also, don't play without sound. It may be tempting because the sound design in Subnautica is very suspenseful, but usually you will be able to hear dangers - dangerous creatures, and some terrain hazards like volcanic vents - before you see them. (I say this mainly because today I almost died because I played on mute, and a creature I normally would have heard from a long way away got the jump on me.)
but Subnautica....dear god... it's scaring the bejesus out of me and i didn't even see the lost river yet...
but this game is just too good... one of the game survival game ever...
just enjoy it and embrace the fear...
But on successive playthroughs I explored most of the biomes a lot more, and actually large areas of the undersea world are not highly dangerous. And exploration is the name of this game! You should try to get over your fears; Subnautica offers a fantastic gaming experience that everyone should experience at least once...
There are probably three biomes you need to watch out for: Dunes, Crash Zone, Mountains
These are very scary biomes. But technically, only one of these is required to beat the game.
Maybe also the Underwater Islands biome, to a lesser extent, isn't my favorite either. It's more annoying than scary, though.
Except the void. Never go near the dead zone.
