On Day 9, Sunbeam sent me coordinates and later, started a countdown to a landing point.
On Day 11, Sunbeam told me that they could not land due to the debris field up in orbit and that they were leaving. That's the end of that I thought. But the timer went into negative numbers.
Today I searched for a solution and found one that worked.
I entered precursorgunaim in the game console to trigger the landing attempt. Sunbeam came in, got blown up and the timer disappeared. Problem solved.
It does not always trigger that unending countown bug, but on rare occasions it does.
(Possibly because you disabled the QEP after your Day 9 message, but before your Day 11 message?)
This is a pretty old thread. It might have been better to convey your found solution in a dedicated new thread with just your own post. It avoids certain kinds of confusion over recent updates, etc.
As for the cause, you are probably correct. I did disable the gun before the Sunbeam sequence. But I still had them come in for a landing after they told me that they gave up.
But it is of no matter. I have solved my problem. Just thought I'd mention my solution for others who may have the same problem, who may search and find this thread. The bug/glitch is, after all, still not fixed.
